City Bush Escape. Central location but very private.
This character home is a hidden tree house Elevated above the for total privacy in every room. Situated on the edge of the town belt you enjoy the plentiful birdlife. With both a heat pump and a roaring open fire you'll be nice and toasty in winter. The wrap around lets you enjoy Wellingtons sunny days and the property is almost completely sheltered from the northerly wind that Wellington is famous for.
We have just finished installing an outdoor bath if you want to have a unique luxury experience (You have to fill with a hot water hose from the laundry but it is well worth the effort). Please note that the property is over 120 years old so it is a bit quirky in areas. We organise a thorough clean following each stay but the property age and bush location mean that it does have plenty of character.
Getting around is easy with many bush walks nearby (including the iconic Mt Victoria) and a major bus route just two minutes away. There is drive on which is steep and tight (welcome to Wellington) or there is parking on street.
The TV is via the Freeview app and we have new d/w, w/m, dryer and fridge. Please enquire if you have any questions. Hataitai village is a five minute walk with plentiful bars, cafes and restaurants.

We loved our stay - Richard the owner was great at communicating with us, the property was as advertised and it is in a great location. Quick and easy to catch the bus to town or wander down to Hataitai village. The house is in a peaceful spot with lots of greenary and birds so it’s super relaxing. We also loved the open fire on a cold evening.
