Dragon’s Nest on River. Quiet Get-away

Digital Detox? Writer’s retreat? Artist temporary studio? Intimate play? Relax, unwind and let the energy of this place channel your creative flow. Whether cozy at the fire in the fall, eating a snack on the porch, relaxing in the hammock or swimming in the river, you will be welcomed. Welcomed by the sound of the gentle rapids, the light through the hemlock and the calls of the blue jays. This has been my home base for over 2 decades. The shelves are full of books and the rooms with good memories.

Waterfront access to the river via stone staircase. Steep rocks above gentle class 1 rapids. Canoes and kayaks can be rented from The Loose Moose on Hwy 7.

Great trip

Good amount of beds, good location between towns and nature while still being on vacation. Driveway was tricky, better to go up and park facing the way you came in.

Perfect retreat

My kid and I were looking for a quiet place to unplug for a week-long writing retreat and the Dragon’s Nest was perfect. A comfortable gem of a space—we especially liked the comfy reading chairs, excellent book collection, and yoga corner. Thanks for sharing your home with us!
