We found a mouse in the kitchen!! Absolutely unacceptable health and safety Hazzard! There were dead insects everywhere including on the beds, floor, bathroom sink, walls; hair on the toilet seat; snacks garbage and food crumbs in the basement; strong bad odor in the basement; extremly grease BBQ grill and after we cleaned it, there wasn't sufficient propane gas to use. Very dirty and poorly maintained property, apparently not cleaned before our stay!
The cottage is in terrible shape. It is for sale and the owners do not wish to do any renovations ( very many are necessary ). The dock and steps leading to it are very shaky and dangerous. The deck needs to be refininshed. The screen door does not close properly and lets bugs in. The BBQ does not work properly, it is disgustingly filthy and should be replaced. There is supposed to be a ping pong table, but there is not. Some items were missing, and it took 2 days to provide them. The heaters in the main rooms did not work. There was no heater in the downstairs bedroom. I contacted VRBO on the second day and spent over 2 hours on the phone and sent several pictures. I am sad to say that I received no satisfaction from VRBO or the owners. I have used VRBO many times in the past and do not plan to use you again.I feel that we are entitled to some compensation from both the owners and yourselves.Herb Vogelplease refer to case #144026608p.s. I sent a picture of the BBQ in a seperate email

Sorry to make you feel bad on your stay.
Heater is in the closet we didn’t think you would need them in summer. If you ask we would have let you know where it is. But you didn’t ask. We already compensate you $200 for the broken pingpong table caused from last guest even when you checked out and didn’t ask. And we got you right at second day to you two cans of coffee. You don’t show your appreciation for all the work we did for you. BBQ stove is to be brushed by each guest who want to use. Turn the heat to high it will self clean by itself. The house on selling actually bring the status on the good condition for buyer to see, I never heard a house on selling are on purposely left in the bad condition. This is a rural cottage, not a new builded or renovated city house. It has its vintage style. Overall everything is same as picture show except a pingpong table, I don’t think you should book a cottage any more. Maybe a five star hotel fits you better. And a guest has no appreciation and always picky for everything will never be welcome back!
