This delightful little cabin is the perfect place for a small family or group of friends to enjoy summer vacation! Slide into some flip-flops and pour an icy cocktail, because this beautiful deck is just calling out for you to use it. Grill up some food with friends then use the full kitchen to whip up some tasty side dishes to enjoy over the picnic table in the screened-in porch. The kids are going to love taking the dog out to explore the island meadow and walking trails, and you'll enjoy taking the kayak out to greet the rising sun before anyone else wakes up. Bright and spacious, this home has something everyone will love!

Everyone is going to love using the paddleboat, canoe, and sunfish sailboat to explore the bay. Pick up your pantry staples and fresh produce at Old Brick Store (four miles) or Shelburne Country Store (10 miles). While you're out, why not do a little sightseeing by visiting Vermont Artisan Village? You'll find lots of great locally-produced foods and crafts! Give the dog some terrific exercise with a trip to Charlotte Park and Wildlife Refuge or Mt. Philo State Park. Take out a boat with Fishnrigg Charters to get right alongside some early-morning Rainbow Trout.

Lovely stay at Garden Island
We loved our stay on Garden Island. Its a beautiful small private island with several old homes on it, and a wonderful trail that circles around the island and passes through an old cedar forest. We stayed in the small cottage called Oaks, which is located beneaht a giant old oak. It's called the 'honeymoon cottage' but my husband and I were glad we weren't honeymooners as the tiny bedroom had two single beds. There is a futon in the main room, but one would have to move the kitchen table to make room for the futon. The cabin is very basic, but we enjoyed our stay because the setting is so lovely. Beautiful view out the window looking out over a small harbor.

A wonderful getaway
A cottage with lots of windows , surrounded by a porch , overlooking Converse Bay with sailors furling their sails, then unfurling them in the evening . Swims in cool water and walks along wonderful scenic trails.

Magical, unique island resort
Garden Island is a 30-acre island in Lake Champlain with 6 rental cottages. Our cottage was beautifully rustic and super-comfortable and well-appointed. We had a deck with a bay/island/harbor view, steps from the beach and boat dock. The owners are on the grounds, and are super-friendly and accommodating. The staff cheerfully provide everything you need, including boat rides back and forth to the mainland. (Very little of no wait time!) There's a gorgeous scenic trail around the island. The grounds are very beautiful and perfect for relaxing or exploring. We had a magical stay and we're sure we'll come back.
