Experience the magic of the Smoky Mountains at Four Ski-sons Chalet, a modern ski-themed three-bedroom, two-bath A-frame nestled in the heart of Gatlinburg. This unique getaway is thoughtfully decorated with handcrafted, ski-inspired furnishings made by the owners themselves, and the décor transforms with the seasons. No matter when you visit, you’ll be greeted by a fresh, inviting atmosphere that celebrates the best of each time of year.

Tucked away in a peaceful, wooded setting just off Ski Mountain Road, this chalet offers exceptional privacy while keeping you close to the action. Step out onto either of the spacious decks and watch the Ober Mountain Aerial Tram glide by overhead, or, in winter, enjoy views of skiers descending the Castle Run slope right next door. With Great Smoky Mountains National Park, downtown Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge all just a short drive away, adventure is always within reach.

Upon arrival, you’ll find ample parking and a welcoming front deck furnished with Adirondack chairs and an iconic yellow chairlift bench from Gatlinburg Skylift Park—perfect for relaxing and soaking in the mountain air. Step down to the ground level to discover a picnic table, charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal), and a bubbling hot tub-ideal for unwinding under the stars. Don’t forget to look up; you might just catch a wave from guests riding the tram above!

Step inside to an open-concept living area featuring a striking stone fireplace, a red sectional sofa, and a large smart TV (don’t forget your streaming logins). Gather for family movie nights, curl up with a good book, or challenge each other to a lively game of foosball.

The adjacent dining area seats six at a spacious table, with extra seating at the breakfast bar. The fully equipped, modern kitchen includes all major appliances and a Keurig coffee maker. Just bring your favorite groceries and you’re set for home-cooked meals.

The main level features one queen bedroom and one full bedroom, both served by a hallway bathroom with a shower/tub combo. (Please note: this chalet does not have a washer or dryer.)

Upstairs, a cozy landing invites you to kick back in bean bag chairs, play video games, or enjoy hours of fun playing cards, checkers, chess, an Atari console, and a miniature pool table.

Beyond the game area, the king bedroom offers a private retreat with its own en suite bathroom, flat-screen TV, and a secluded deck for two-perfect for morning coffee or evening stargazing. Just be aware: tram riders might spot you relaxing outside!

As a guest of Four Ski-sons Chalet, you’ll have access to three clubhouses. The nearest, South Baden Clubhouse, features a large outdoor pool, changing rooms and showers, shuffleboard, horseshoes, a playground, tennis courts, a gym, and a game room with billiards, ping pong, foosball, checkers, chess, and video games.

Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
The listing for this place is not accurate. It is not private and also not quiet. The sky tram wakes you up every morning. There is no privacy since the sky tram is going at all hours that Ober mountain is open. The driveway is also extremely hard to get up, my mom joined us and was not even able to get her Lexus SUV up and had to park at the bottom of the driveway on the side of the road and then walk up the driveway, which isn’t good for someone who has had two knee replacements. On top of this, there are about 15-20 signs the owners have put up throughout the house that are very off putting. It is clear that they only want your money and they don’t actually want you to “make yourself at home.” None of the signs were actually helpful to the renter. I felt like a child, there was even a sign about putting the shower liner into the shower. One particular sign was the one above the thermostat about not changing it above or below 70, whether is was on heat or AC stating it was “locked” at this temperature. It also states to open a window if you get hot/cold. The windows themselves have a sign saying not to open them due to bears, so basically if you are hot or cold, you might as well just leave the house altogether. I have a chronic disease and a symptom of it is not being able to control my body temperature. This is something that SHOULD have been listed in the description of the house because we would have NEVER rented it if it had been.Lot more to say, character limit.
