We stay at the Anchorage often and love it! We travel to Myrtle Beach four or five times a year, so we are very accustomed to the accommodations and absolutely love this quiet, family-oriented area.The listing itself was as expected. We could tell from the photos that it was a bit dated, but that doesn't bother me—I actually enjoyed the '90s nostalgia. The location is truly amazing.However, the condo is in desperate need of a deep clean and some maintenance oversight. Upon arrival, we immediately noticed that the deadbolt chain was broken. We reported this right away, but unfortunately, no one came to fix it, which was a significant safety disappointment.The overall cleanliness and presentation need attention. We could immediately smell smoke when we walked in and found cigarette butts on the bedroom floor and burns in the linens and carpet, which we reported to management. The unit was filled with a lot of random items and clutter that you would expect to find in someone’s personal home, but not in a Vrbo. It made the space feel crowded instead of guest-ready.While this worked fine for a short, impromptu stay for just three of us, it would not work well for anyone with respiratory sensitivities. At a minimum, pulling up the carpet, clearing out the excess clutter, and removing the heavy, dated window treatments and bed linens would go a long way in refreshing the space.
