About this property
The Siding - Yallingup Rural Retreat
With it's own private vineyard, this picturesque 10 acre property is a true retreat! You won’t find a better place to escape day to day life. Set in the Margaret River wine region of WA, nestled between Yallingup and trendy Dunsborough, you’ll feel a million miles away, yet if you wish to venture out, there's so much on your doorstep: beautiful beaches, wineries, caves, walking trails and many more tourist attractions. Catering for all seasons, sparkling pool in summer and a cosy log fire in winter.
The space
The house is fully equipped with four bedrooms in total, two of which include private ensuites.
The rumpus room includes Foxtel TV (limited channels), as well as, books and board games for children and adults to enjoy. A second living room with free-to-air TV is perfect for relaxing in the afternoon with a book, or just a separate area for the adults.
The inside dining table easily seats eight for dinner. There are also four stools along the spacious kitchen breakfast island bench.
The fully equipped kitchen overlooks the vineyard and includes an oven and dishwasher.
The large pantry has a shelf full of condiments that guests are welcome to use including spices, salt, pepper, oil etc.
A central double-sided fire-place heats the entire house and plenty of wood is provided.
The huge alfresco area hosts an outdoor kitchen, complete with BBQ, drinks fridge and sink. The dining table overlooks the pool, set in front of an amazing rural backdrop. The perfect spot to enjoy lazy long lunches or BBQ dinners in the warmer months.
Inside the glass-fenced pool area are pool lounges and a day bed for your enjoyment.
A second-day bed is located on the patio that overlooks the main lawn and vineyard, and is a favourite spot to sit for an afternoon vino and tasting plate. The grassed area in front of the vineyard is perfect for a game of botchie, soccer or other games.
The newly renovated Games Room with wall-mounted TV provides plenty of entertainment for all including table tennis, foosball and pool table. You will also find some beach equipment such as beach chairs, buckets and spades to borrow while out and about during your stay.
The kids will love the custom-built play equipment to enjoy under adult supervision.
The dam located at the bottom of the property is a great place to explore year-round, or the stream (in cooler months) for good old-fashioned leaf boat races.
The property is set on 10 acres of beautiful bushland. You may even be lucky enough to meet our resident kangaroos.
The laundry has a washing machine & dryer for your use, as well as, a clothesline outside the laundry.
We keep the property stocked with Eco-store handwash, body wash, dishwashing liquid, dishwasher pellets, washing power, tissues, toilet paper, tea, sugar & an initial supply of coffee pods.
Guest access
Guests have use of the entire house except for a few locked storage cupboards. Guests are free to explore the property except for the large shed and seperate studio. These are strictly no guest access.
The sauna is also not accessible to guests for health and safety reasons.
Other things to note...
BYO pool/beach towels. We can arrange hire pool towels for an additional fee but please provide as much notice as possible. Note - the pool is currently not heated.
A travel cot and high chair are available at the property to use at no additional cost
No outdoor fires (including firepits) are to be lit at any time of year, under any circumstances.
Parents with young children should note there is an unfenced dam on the property so will need to be diligent. It is set away from the house. There is a grassed lawn with a fence between it, but not completely enclosed. The trampoline does not have a safety net installed so please only use under strict parental supervision.
- Maximum number of guests (adults and children combined) is 8. Strictly no parties or large group gatherings.
Strictly no school leavers.
Mid-stay cleans, and linen changes can be arranged for guests staying 10 nights or more for an extra fee. Please advise at time of booking if required.
The rainwater is filtered and perfectly ok to drink.
The house has a security alarm (for which we will give you the code). The property has security cameras to monitor dam levels and cars entering the property. We respect guest privacy in all indoor areas, as well as, the pool area.
As this is a large rural property, from time to time there will be maintenance during your stay (for vineyard; lawn mowing; pool). We try to schedule around guest stays as much as possible.
During March/April there may be grape picking - a date that we cannot choose as it is up to the wine gods as to when the grapes are ready for picking! We usually have a space of a few days to have them picked and try to organise this when there are no guests at the property, however, some guests have actually enjoyed witnessing the experience in the past!
Freshly laundered linen, from a professional linen service, is included in the booking cost. A Trundle bed, only available on request at an additional fee, comes with a standard fitted sheet and duvet.
