Te Whare Tāwhai – Your peaceful riverside escape near Ohakune and Raetihi. Nestled by the Mangawhero River with stunning views of Mt Ruapehu, this rustic yet cozy studio-style cabin is perfect for couples, small families, or anyone craving a digital detox and nature’s rhythm.
The space
Access to the whole property (approx 8000m2) including private river access.
Wake up to birdsong and the whisper of the river. With a queen bed and a loft that can be set up with 2 extra single mattresses, this cabin is small but full of heart. Cook simple meals in the kitchenette (fridge, air fryer, portable oven with cooktop), unwind by the fire pit with a vino or toasted marshmallows, and reconnect with what matters.
🚵 Short ride/drive away from Te Ara Mangawhero, Coach Road and the newly opened Te Hāngaruru Cycle/Walkway.
⛷ Close to Turoa Ski Field – adventure at your doorstep
