We really enjoyed our 6 night stay, we thought it was good value for money and had pretty much everything we needed. It was perfect location for us to walk, near the river and not far to the supermarket. Loved how quiet and private it was looking out to the red zone from the deck, just trees and green and birdsong. Would definitely stay again

Kath and family were a pleasure to host,
Lovely to chat with, sightful and helpful.
Left the space in great condition . Highly recommend.
Cosy house with plenty of room.Dog friendly. Hospitable host who lives onsite.Good communication. House next to red zone which makes for a very interesting and sober walk around the Avon.Beds do need a topa cover to create a bit of softness.
The property is very pet friendly, however the host was a bit shocked that we were travelling with cats. More spacious than the photos let on and had many nice amenities such as heaters, alot of mirrors, french press nice coffee grounds, interesting twin clown painting offset by Muhammad Ali. The beds are varying levels of hardness, but generally really hard, could use new mattress toppers. One of the room doors do not close properly and can be pushed open.Overall a very enjoyable stay, the host was very helpful and kind!

Lovely guests.
Suprised they had cats with them. Unarranged, but worked out ok.
Glad to see the listing has been updated. Was quite shocked to find owner lives out the back in a caravan, when we were expecting a private property.Beds are way past firm. Had to go out and buy a mattress topper to get a decent nights sleep.Note that owner is on pre paid power, so if you use more than estimated, you may get asked to contribute more.Had no issues with owner, friendly.

Morning and Merry Christmas
Thanks for the feedback.
As we discussed and agreed......
Having the electric car plugged in and charging during the day, used 3 times the average family usage.
Thanks for your recognition and contribution to this extra expense.
I am saddened to hear the owner living in a separate dwelling on the back of the property was a shock to you.
The only thing shared about this arrangement is the driveway.
As is clear in the listing, whilst rented to you, the owner does not come into or near the rented space, unless requested to do so.
Thank you, I will follow your lead with regard to the firm mattress, ... As in get mattress toppers to make more comfortable whilst retaining their supportive properties for guests who prefer that.
Kind Regards

Nice character to house, spacious and roomy for the size, the beds were uncomfortable, main double bed didn't even feel like it had a mattress on it was more like a futon top very flat and hard, hubby had to sleep on the couch. Didn't realize there were people staying at the back till the second day. Does not say in the advert people living in back part of property. Mostly clean tidy and warm.

Hiya. Thank you for visiting and leaving the space so tidy. I have updated the listing to allow visitors to understand the listing and its arrangements as you recommend. Yes, one of the rooms has a rather firm bed/mattress, its very good for a bad back on doctors recommendation. Pleased to hear the couch was a suitable sleeping alternative.
Best Wishes

House is great. Everything there. The problem was the host living in the back when the house is rented out.Upon checkin he introduced himself with a different name to what is in the listing and we noticed him being drunk slurring and smelling from alcohol strongly. It culminated during a convo with him about rugby when he disliked my opinion and got aggro and loud. Again strong alcohol smell and slurred speech. That same night we were sitting on the couch by the back door he rumble up the deck at 10.45pm and banged on the door again badly slurring and more drunk than earlier. This is not a safe place with the host being a loose canon invading your space during vacation. We also did not feel safe leaving our personal belongings when out seeing friends, knowing he has access to his house at all times. So we decided to leave earlier than scheduled. A real shame!
We enjoyed staying here & would stay again if avaliable

A world traveller, from a poor family, I've worked hard to get what I've got, its not much, but I don't need much... I absolutely love dogs and have always had one in my life... until now. So, why not offer lodgings to travellers, (like myself) to dog owners ( like myself) I relocated a house onto this property because it was right next to a new park... bonus, I can't be built out sunshine wise, its a quiet street not far from the city, very warm due to its sun exposure... and the walk around the river bend is to die for... 3 exceptional cafes within 20 minutes walking... blah, blah, blah, ... stop in find out...
