Te Paki Dam View by Tiny Away is located near the town of Shannon, a bit farther from the Arapeti Campsite. Our tiny homes are nestled within native New Zealand bush, providing a truly unique and peaceful experience. Nearby, you can explore the beautiful Tararua National Park and Mangahao Nature Reserve, while the renowned Whitewater Park hosts exciting events throughout the year.
It's a 139-square-foot tiny home that is semi off-grid and powered by a solar system. Instead of air conditioning, you’ll enjoy the warmth and charm of an indoor fireplace. The home includes water access, a kitchenette with cooking equipment, and a well-designed bathroom with an eco-friendly cassette toilet, hand basin, and gas-heated shower.
As your hosts, we take great pleasure in sharing the peace and beauty of our remote forest home. Te Paki is the perfect base for creatives, adventurers, or anyone needing space to breathe. No neighbors, no noise—just pure solitude and the natural rhythms of the wild.

Guests can access the tiny home and its natural surroundings. Just a heads-up—some areas like the main house, shed, and work zones are off-limits, but don’t worry, they’ll be marked.
NOTICE: You may hear occasional rooster crows or distant gunshots from local hunting activity. The property is also home to friendly dogs, goats, and chickens.
