Welcome to Halcyon Point
Raw beauty. Refined living. Built with intention. Rooted in nature.
Halcyon Point is a study in contrasts - raw yet refined, bold yet deeply connected to the land. Designed by Scott, a creative with an instinct for clean, modern lines, and Claudia, a lover of botanicals with an intuitive eye for organic beauty, this off-grid retreat is a seamless fusion of architecture and landscape.
We are just an email or message away if you require any assistance during your stay.
We have a very busy focused team and trying to reach us by phone can be challenging so for a swift reply please use the reservation platform you booked through.
We are a 5 minute drive from town and all the local restaurants and amenities you may need.
Set against a backdrop of untamed wilderness, Halcyon Point is where contemporary design meets rugged terrain. Built with a minimalist, modern edge, the space embraces clean lines, natural materials, and an unwavering connection to its surroundings.
Polished concrete floors extend from indoors to out, creating a sense of continuity and calm. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame expansive views, drawing the outside in. Raw timber, steel, and stone are layered with intention - balancing warmth with restraint, comfort with clarity, and luxury with simplicity.
This is a place to switch off and sink in. Lush greenery softens the edges, creating harmony between the built and the wild. From the sculptural form of the building to the curated gardens woven throughout, every detail is grounded in thoughtful design.
Whether you’re watching a storm roll in or basking in the hush of a still morning, Halcyon Point offers a retreat that feels both grounded and otherworldly. Pure. Elemental. Beautifully remote.
*** Laundry: Washing facilities are available for guest use from November through to April only. Outside of these months, the laundry is kept offline to help manage energy use more efficiently - thanks so much for your understanding.
Halcyon Point is only 5 mins drive in a car or taxi from Hokitika airport.
From Christchurch - It is a 3.5 hour stunning drive over the Alps through Arthur"s Pass.
From Nelson - It is a 5 hour drive along an amazing coastal road.
From Queenstown - It is a 7 hour drive through ever changing scenery.
