Bird lovers paradise!

Mary's place is unique in its natural landscape and bird chatter. The apartment is cozy, well appointed and has lots of places to sit, sleep and put things without tripping over a tiny space. Fun antiques and quiet, very quiet. In a beautiful neighborhood with rolling hills. The grounds are amazing, you feel like you are in a forest or jungle at times, the birds sing all day and it is so green and lush.

Lovely space, exactly as advertised

Mary welcomed us when we got in late at night. The private entrance feels like a secret garden path, and is well lit at night. Everything was clean and neat. Mary offered to wash sheets and towels for us as needed, and was very communicative throughout the entire stay. We were there for a month while looking for housing in the area. The only thing we had to go out and buy was a vegetable peeler and a cutting board - otherwise it has everything you'd need!

Cozy Escape

Mary's Country Cottage Escape is a lovely place to stay. Mary is a charming hostess and will greet you when you arrive. The "cottage" is located on the lower level of Mary's home. It is private, very comfortable and has everything you need. You feel as though you are in a rustic cabin with the beautiful wood floors and reclaimed wood walls. The yard is lovely and you might see deer. There is a carport with a spot for your vehicle. You'll have a nice time when you chose to stay at Mary's Country Cottage Escape.

Never Disappoints

This was our second visit. The property is neat and cozy. Situated in a quiet neighborhood just outside the High Point city limits, Mary’s place is close to High Point University, Jamestown and other places of interest. We will return later this spring. Thanks Mary - see you soon!

Little Cabin in the Woods

My mother and I stayed here while visiting my son at college during family weekend. Mary's Country Cottage Escape is exactly that - absolutely enchanting and neat as a pin! Referred to as a "cottage" it is really a basement converted to a downstairs large efficiency apartment with its own entrance, kitchen, bathroom and living room/bedroom combo but you would never know it once you're inside. The front door opens to Mary's back yard which resembles a horticultural oasis. She loves native plants and trees so the grounds look like a nature reserve. All the creature comforts of home are in Mary's cottage including nice crisp bedsheets and soft blankets that were very cozy, and the place is well appointed and very comfortable. The walls and/or floors come from an old barn, which we found very fitting for the cottage-like experience. We will stay at Mary's Country Cottage again before staying in a hotel. We just loved it!

This property is owned by Mary who is in her 80s. She loves people and enjoys sharing her place. She is not very computer literate so I help her out with reservations and handling questions guests may have. I own several houses that we list on VRBO

Why they chose this property

This property is beautiful. Mary's place has 12-inch wide pine floors and the walls are made out of reclaimed barn wood. The house sits 5 minutes from High Point City limit but you'll think you are out in the country. In the evening you'll see a variety of animals in the woods behind the house.

What makes this property unique

This is a very peaceful place. It is so quiet in the evenings. Perfect place just to get away and relax.
