About this property

Quiet, home-style stay in historic Washington Park neighborhood.

Quiet, home-style stay in historic Washington Park neighborhood. We are a homey apartment in a two-family house with a mix of some luxury and casual living. Humble, clean, and comfy, in walking distance from Washington Park, UNCSA (we're 1 block from the Uni), Acadia Foods, East of Texas, Lesser Known Brewery, and several other new and trendy spots. 1 mile to 4 of the best coffee shops and downtown, all walkable or a 4 minute drive. Garage access included! (Free coffee coupon at SaySo!)

We are a fully furnished home-styled 1 bedroom apartment located in a charming duplex three blocks from Washington Park and 1 block from UNSCA. Fully stocked kitchen. With microwave, electric stove, coffee maker, pots & pans, and everything else you'll need if you want to cook away from home. Also, lots of lovely plants.

Access to garage parking, if desired! We hope to observe quiet hours during the week after 10PM--your hosts are also your neighbors! We're married and nesting ex-artists working in the industry now though one of us still plugs away at their book (some day!).

Very sunny in the morning, the bedroom contains a plush bed, mattress, sheets, and duvet! Very expensive pier 1 chairs and other high end furnishings in the bedroom. Luggage rack and bamboo hanging rack for easy access.

The living room has a brand new and comfy couch with a pull-out bed for your 3rd. Extra sheets and blankets included for this pullout. Living room has a small wood desk and chair, a side chair with end tables and comfy foot rest. 55'' brand new HD, 1080 Roku TV. You can sign in to myriad accounts. (closet for hanging more items in the living room)

Bathroom is quaint, small, but comfy and clean. Old fashioned iron tub and we provide some hand and shower soaps if you need. Lots of brand new plush towels! More towels can be made available if requested in advance.

Washing machine and dryer access and we provide drying rack and suds.

Beautiful Historic Apartment
I loved this spacious apartment with beautiful floors, tall ceilings, and the feel of an updated, super clean old historic home. Everything was as advertised and it is easy to access downtown Winston-Salem just minutes away. I was there for an event and also tried some local coffee shops, restaurants, and beautiful pathways for long walks with lovely views. I would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful stay, great location
This was an ideal stay for visiting the UNCSA campus and Winston-Salem in general. Beautiful, quiet neighborhood, an impeccable home, and very friendly/accessible hosts. I stayed solo this time but had the option of a pullout bed for my (teen) child who was visiting campus. The place is perfect for singles, couples, or a family of 2-3 (or 4 with younger kids who can share a bed). Street parking was a piece of cake but there’s also a garage. It’s quite literally across the street from UNCSA, and many amenities are just down the road a mile or two. If our future plans bring us this way I would book again without hesitation. Thanks for making this a lovely trip!

Nice accommodation and Good Location for Visiting Old Salem
We spent a spring weekend at "Rooster and Henny's" place - a small brick duplex in a gentrifying neighborhood near Old Salem. The property was immaculate and the hosts responded to our needs by providing bedding and making up the pull out sofa for us. There was plenty of parking on the street and in the rear as well. The directions on how to navigate to the backdoor parking could be better, so we decided to park on the street. That afternoon and evening, we enjoyed a visit to Incendiary Brewing downtown and a delicious meal at Sage and Salt restaurant a short drive away on Friday. It looks like Winston-Salem is becoming a "foodie" town and from what we sampled, they are on their way! On Saturday we drove out to Reynolda House Museum and Gardens. The museum is located in the former home of R.J. Reynolds, and it's an interesting home with some excellent works of American art there including one by my favorite - Thomas Hart Benton! Much of the art is displayed in the home, with the nine bedrooms being turned into gallery space. The museum also featured an interesting history on African Americans who worked for the Reynolds family. The gardens with its many blooming plants and trees and the smell of hyacinths and daffodils made this stop a very pleasant way to spend a spring afternoon. All in all it was a very nice weekend! We may well be back to sample some of the coffee shops and other restaurants that our hosts recommended!
