About this property
Lantern House, Onetangi - Be My Guest Waiheke
Perched 90 meters on a cliff-top ridge overlooking Onetangi Bay, the Lantern House is a luxurious retreat that cocoons guests in sublime tranquillity.
Centrally located on Waiheke, New Zealand’s world-famous Island of award-winning vineyards and pristine beaches just 35 minutes from downtown Auckland by ferry. So close yet a world away.
The astonishing views are framed by a peaceful, eastern-inspired interior finished to 5-star hotel standard, featuring outdoor entertaining pavilions, sun-bathing areas, and a refreshingly deep plunge pool.
The owners were inspired by their travels to Asia and their love of architecture and interiors by design legends Ed Tuttle, Kerry Hill, and Geoffrey Bawa. The owner's love for resort architecture inspired them to turn Lantern House into a luxurious escape sanctuary with the sophistication and taste level of an Amanresort.
Completed in 2018, the Herbst Architects-designed Lantern House has won numerous architectural awards, including 'best interior' for HOME magazine ('home of the year' 2018 awards) and a top prize at the NZIA 2018 awards.
Opulent textures and sumptuous materials like marble, granite, and teak combine to create an elegant environment where the view is the star attraction.
Nestled down a secluded private driveway, the lantern house is perfect for those who require intimate privacy. A retreat for the senses.

3 bedrooms each with superking beds, extra-large feather lodge pillows, ensuite bathrooms, featuring underfloor heating and rain showers
Master bedroom features deep soaking Japanese style bath
