I booked this property for my sister and her family. I am requesting a refund due to an unsafe and unacceptable check-in experience. She arrived after 5 PM, over an hour after the listed 4PM check-in time, and the unit was not ready. No clear check-in instructions were provided before hand, The host had only mentioned that he would be present, so my sister had to search for him and ask other occupants on the property before eventually discovering that he was inside the unit, rushing to get it ready.Upon entry, the unit smelled strongly of cleaning chemicals. The kitchen was visibly unclean, and the cleaning felt rushed and incomplete. The host stated the delay was due to broken glass from a previous guest. However, broken glass was still present near the entrance when she left, despite being told the unit had been thoroughly cleaned and vacuumed. When concerns were raised, the host only did a quick wipe-down of the kitchen.Due to the condition of the unit and safety concerns for one of the guests who is a child, she informed the host she was uncomfortable staying and requested a refund. The host refused to assist, spoke rudely, told her to contact VRBO, and took photos of her and my brother without consent.They left immediately and did not stay the two booked nights. The property was not ready, not clean, and not safe. I am requesting a refund for a stay that could not be safely used.
