About this property

Beachfront, sandbar, 8p sauna, pickleball court, 6BR, outdoor kitchen and more

Imagine waking up to the gentle sound of waves and the endless horizon stretching out before you. This beachfront retreat offers stunning ocean views, direct access to the shore, and a massive sandbar just steps away, perfect for long walks, beachcombing, swimming, or simply soaking in the peaceful rhythm of the sea. The waters of the Northumberland Strait are known for being the warmest north of the Carolinas, making them especially inviting for swimming and family-friendly beach days. Mornings begin with coffee enjoyed to the sound of seabirds and the sparkle of sunlight dancing across the water, setting the tone for days that can be as active or as relaxed as you wish.

For those who love to stay moving, the professional beachside pickleball court, complete with all equipment invites friendly matches with the ocean as your backdrop. Adventure continues on the water with six single kayaks and one double kayak, ideal for exploring the coastline at your own pace. On land, half a dozen bicycles make it easy to enjoy scenic rides together and discover nearby communities.

After a full day outdoors, relaxation takes center stage. The eight-person sauna overlooking the beach is a true highlight, especially at sunset. Step inside, let the warmth melt away the day, and watch the sky transform into brilliant shades of gold, pink, and purple over the ocean. It’s the kind of moment that slows time and stays with you long after your stay.

The home itself is designed for comfort, connection, and ease. With six bedrooms and three full bathrooms, there’s plenty of space for families and groups to spread out while still coming together. An outdoor shower adds the perfect beach-house touch for rinsing off sand and salt. Inside, high-speed internet keeps you connected when needed, whether you’re streaming a movie, sharing photos, or catching up on work.

Families traveling with young children will feel especially at home here. To make your stay easier, the property includes thoughtful family-friendly amenities such as a high chair, Pack ’n Play, and a large foldable playmat. There is also a dedicated kids’ playroom filled with toys, games, and plenty of space to play. Two large interior windows overlook the TV room, allowing adults to relax nearby while still keeping a watchful eye on little ones, offering both peace of mind and flexibility for the whole family.

Food and gathering are central to life here, and this property truly shines in that regard. Along with two fully equipped indoor kitchens, you’ll find an exceptional outdoor kitchen designed for unforgettable meals and evenings under the open sky. Fire up one of the two barbecues, cook on the Blackstone, bake fresh pizza in the pizza oven, or experiment with flavors using the wood pellet smoker or natural wood smoker. A commercial size ice maker is also available on site, making it incredibly convenient to fill large coolers for beach days and outings. With an outdoor fridge and plenty of prep and seating space, cooking becomes a shared experience filled with laughter, great food, and the ocean just steps away.

To complete the authentic island experience, you’ll find excellent options for fresh seafood close by. A local fish buyer in Maximeville, just 10 minutes away, offers freshly caught fish, shellfish, and lobster straight from the source. Even closer, the Abrams Village fish retail, only 5 minutes from the property, makes it easy to bring home the freshest ingredients for an unforgettable seafood feast, perfect for the outdoor kitchen and smokers.

Beyond the property, a wealth of nearby attractions makes this an ideal base for exploring Prince Edward Island. Just five minutes away in St. Chrysostome, Beach Goats offer one of the island’s most unique experiences, where friendly goats play, dress up, and even paddleboard along the beach, an unforgettable stop for families and animal lovers. Ten minutes away, the whimsical Bottle Houses of Cape Egmont invite you to explore colorful, fantasy-like buildings made from thousands of recycled glass bottles, glowing beautifully in the sunlight.

Only five minutes from the property, Abrams Village offers a taste of local culture and community life. Village Musicale features an outdoor stage, art gallery, gift shop, concert hall, restaurant, and bakery, perfect for enjoying live music or browsing local art. Nearby, Évangéline School Park provides play structures, swings, and a walking track, making it a great stop for families or an easy evening stroll. Ten minutes away, the Community of Wellington adds even more outdoor options, including outdoor gym equipment, walking trails, and a public park.

For those willing to venture a bit farther, PEI delivers unforgettable family fun. About 35 minutes away in North Port Harbour, Richard’s Bait and Tackle offers guided striped bass fishing tours with all gear provided. In Kensington, roughly 30 minutes from the property, the Haunted Mansion delivers playful thrills with its family-friendly scream park and secret gardens. Around 40 minutes away, Burlington Go-Karts offers PEI’s largest go-kart track along with bumper boats, mini putt, batting cages, and laser tag.

A little farther east, the iconic attractions of Cavendish await. Shining Waters features over 40 attractions, including waterslides, pools, and roller coasters, while Sandspit offers classic carnival rides and a go-kart track, both perfect for full days of excitement. For shopping and dining, Spinnakers Landing in Summerside (25 minutes away) offers locally owned shops, restaurants, and live music along the boardwalk, while Gateway Village in Borden-Carleton (40 minutes away) provides a charming stop at the foot of the Confederation Bridge. The bustling Cavendish Boardwalk adds even more shops, eateries, and activities.

For a larger city experience, Charlottetown, the capital of PEI, is about an hour and 15 minutes away and well worth a day trip. Explore historic streets, charming boutiques, art galleries, beautiful parks, and some of the island’s best restaurants, all set along a lively waterfront.

Golfers will feel right at home on Prince Edward Island, known as one of Canada’s premier golfing destinations. With over 25 courses across the island, stunning scenery is always part of the game. Highlights include Mill River Golf Course just 30 minutes away, offering mature trees, rolling greens, and a relaxing spa, as well as Green Gables Golf Course and Glasgow Hills Resort & Golf Club, both about an hour away. For a truly world-class experience, The Links at Crowbush Cove, about 1.5 hours from the property, consistently ranks among the best courses in Canada with its dramatic ocean views and championship design.

At the end of each day, returning to this beachfront retreat feels like coming home. Whether you’re watching the sunset from the sauna, sharing a meal prepared outdoors, or simply listening to the waves under a star-filled sky, this property offers the perfect balance of peaceful escape and island adventure. It’s a place to slow down, reconnect, and create lasting memories by the sea.

We had a wonderful stay for our sibling family vacation! The property was beautiful, clean and comfortable, and the view was absolutely amazing. It was the perfect place to relax, spend time together and make some great memories. Jamie was incredibly helpful, providing lots of information and even setting up fishing rods so the guys could try sea bass fishing. Such a thoughtful touch! We loved everything about our stay and would definitely return.

Our stay was exactly what our family needed. A chance to unwind and just enjoy each others company. There were so many things to do right on the property which was really a big plus for us. We played pickleball, went kayaking, hit the golf balls, then went into the sauna, then played card games all in one day. Then we would repeat it again the next day. We were never bored. There was plenty of space for all of us and we never ran out of different places to sit and relax. We would highly recommend it and we would love to return!

We spent a week here and it exceeded every expectation. Everything about this property is 12/10. The home is beautifully designed, impeccably maintained, and has everything you could possibly need. The outdoor kitchen is fantastic, and the second full kitchen makes cooking for larger groups effortless. Every detail of the home feels well thought out, from the beautiful hardwood floors throughout to the incredible kids’ room, which was a huge hit with our family. One of our favourite features was the golf target in the ocean. At low tide, you can simply walk out and retrieve your golf balls—such a unique and fun addition! The outdoor space is equally impressive. The property is sprayed for mosquitoes, which made evenings outside much more enjoyable. Campfires are a must, so bring some firewood on your way in (although there’s also plenty of driftwood to gather on the beach).James was an outstanding host—welcoming, friendly, and incredibly responsive throughout our stay. This is easily one of the best VRBO properties we’ve stayed in. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, well-equipped getaway.

This house truly has it all, and in some cases- in triplicate. There is so much provided you really would never need to leave the house. The original photo of the deck threw us off as it was before the grass filled in, but it’s a golf game and the water is so low you don’t HAVE to wait until low tide to fetch the balls, though you can. They have a plethora of kayaks, the bathrooms and bedrooms are gorgeous, three living spaces…. The neighbors (well, Daniel travels by ATV to pick up fish somewhere along the coast) and what a sweet man! True island fashion everyone on the island is wonderful. James and Lucy were truly hospitable and honestly, you would forget they were the hosts and think they were friends visiting. Such great personalities. There is lots to do nearby, we missed out on Tyne Valley’s Friday Night open air market- but next time! The house is worth every penny. If I could make any improvement, it would be my employer’s vacation policy 1w/yr I’d love to be able to take at least two on the island and this house would be my choice EVERY time! Also- the sky at night! We could see the Milky Way! Thank you so much for letting our family stay, 86yo nana, my 66yo parents, my husband and I, and our 5kids and four of their friends. They all had space and there wasn’t a single disagreement between them- except on the murder mystery games (and that’s only because of the strange and funny character relationships we had to navigate given our real life ones haha)

It was such a pleasure hosting this wonderful family and their friends at the beach house! They were a lovely group who truly made the most of the property and all it has to offer. It was so nice to see the kids enjoying the space, along with their parents and their sweet Nana. Everyone was kind, respectful, and a pleasure to communicate with prior, throughout and after their stay. We’re so happy to hear that you enjoyed the beach house and know you made many wonderful memories together. Thank you as well for leaving the two board games behind—we’re sure future guests will really enjoy them! It was a pleasure hosting all of you, and we would be absolutely delighted to welcome you back anytime!
