Your host
Hi! We’re Taes and Peter, (plus our dog Lily!) We love creating spaces that feel cozy, warm and a little bit magical. Hampshire House is our part-time home in Kingston, we both travel for work and also spend time up north at a cottage when we are not enjoying Kingston.
Hosting brings us so much joy. It's so special to be able to welcome guests from all over and share our space. Whether you're visiting Queen’s, exploring Kingston, or just relaxing with the people you love, we hope Hampshire House gives you a memorable place to land.
Why they chose this property
We’re in the best neighborhood in Kingston: Sydenham Ward. It’s full of tree-lined streets, historic homes, and you can walk to just about everything. We chose this area because it’s the perfect mix: close to Queen’s, the market, the waterfront, and downtown restaurants, but still peaceful and residential.
There’s something really special about being able to grab a coffee, stroll to the lake, get all of your groceries, have amazing first class restaurants, all within a few blocks. It feels like a small town inside a small city, and we absolutely love it.
What makes this property unique
Hampshire House stands out because it’s not just a rental, it’s our family home, and you can feel that in every corner. Built in 1872, it’s a bright, character-filled century home with high ceilings, exposed brick, original details, and thoughtful touches throughout.
What makes it truly special is the combination of charm and location: we’re in the heart of Kingston’s historic Sydenham Ward, just a few minutes' walk from the waterfront, the market, Queen’s University, and some of the city’s best restaurants. The house is spacious enough for families or groups, but cozy enough to feel like home.
Plus — a private backyard , a top-floor suite with a clawfoot tub, a special bunk bed room for kids and even a little library nook.
