What makes this property unique
A sugar moon is the full moon in March or early April, signifying the start of spring and the annual maple sap flow, known in many Indigenous cultures—particularly the Anishinaabe—as a time of renewal and the, "Sugar Moon" or, "Ziissbaakdoke Giizis.” It represents the season for harvesting maple sap to create sugar and syrup.
The Sugar Moon encourages renewal and growth. It reminds us of the deep connection between the changing seasons and the rhythms of nature. It is a period for renewal of the spirit, reflection on personal growth, and honouring the wisdom passed down through generations. The Sugar Moon encourages us to embrace transformation, seek balance, and nurture the connections with both the natural world and our inner selves.
As you explore our 27 acres and the thousands of acres of crown land surrounding our property, take a moment to enjoy the maple trees & all of the surrounding nature. It is our pleasure to share this beautiful land with our guests & look forward to making our own maple syrup & sharing it with our guests in the future.
