The space
Welcome to a true Muskoka original — a classic log cottage with iconic character, standout landscaping, and a life-size moose in the yard (your unofficial greeter).

Inside, you’ll find warm “moose lodge” style with log furnishings and thoughtful touches throughout, plus modern updates like granite countertops and a fully stocked kitchen that’s made for real meals, big breakfasts, and late-night snacks and the rare perk of boating or walking straight into Dorset for pizza, bagels, and ice cream.

This cottage is available for peak summer stays in July and August, when Lake of Bays is at its best — long lake days, dock time, campfires, and sunset dinners in the gazebo.

Booking format: 7-night minimum, Friday-to-Friday turnovers. (So you get a full, classic cottage week — the best kind.)

One of the best parts of this location: you can walk, kayak, or boat right into Dorset for ice cream, essentials, and small-town fun. Pizza on Earth is in walking distance for wood-fired pizza, and the Dorset Lookout Tower trails are directly across the street for exploring.

Boat launch + trailer-friendly
The public boat launch is a 1-minute drive at Dorset Parkette, and there’s lots of parking with space for a trailer.

Good to know
The cottage is located near Hwy 35, so you may hear some road noise outdoors at times. The trade-off is unbeatable access to Dorset, the trails, and the boat launch — plus the convenience of being able to walk or paddle into town.
