Keowee Key is a fabulous community on the north side of the lake. The amenities are top drawer and the community members themselves are all very friendly. It's a little remote, being about 20 to 25 minutes away from restaurants and grocery stores. This particular property is a very nice condo. There's a few steep steps with somewhat shallow treads to get to the main floor from the front door, something to be aware of if you have walking issues. The condo was well furnished and provided towels were plush. Shampoo/conditioner is not provided, so be aware to save yourself a 20 minute ride to town to get some. The owner is very responsive to texts - we had trouble getting the thermostat to lower the temperature but the owner provided good instructions right away. The condo overlooks two tennis courts and the lake beyond that which is a very short walk to the marina. Keowee Key's club house is very nice, the fitness center is first rate, the northern pool is awesome. Please be aware that once you book, you'll get a lot of texts and emails with check-in instructions from a lot of different people which can be a little confusing. Once you get things worked out (the condo address, the three entrance gates and the code to the front door), everything else is kind of secondary. The value offered by this unit is much better than others, we're going to book it again.
