About this property

The Bay Dune Cottage: Your Own Private Beach + Cozy Backyard Fire Pit

The Bay Dune is a red cottage on Tracadie Bay in Blooming Point, PEI, with your own private deeded beach just steps away and a cozy fire pit tucked into the backyard. Spend your days on red sand steps away or just a minutes' drive to the white sand at Blooming Point Beach. The location was fantastic.Very close to a very large north shore beach that is sparsely attended relative to the other north shore beaches while being under 30 minutes to Charlottetown. The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable while still feeling like a cottage. Big fire pit was also enjoyable.

The cabin was spacious, comfortable and clean. It made a great place to rest and recover from our sightseeing. The screened in porch was particularly useful as the mosquitoes were so bad this year that we were unable to spend any time outside, other than rushing in and out of our car. We heard from many that this had been a bad year all over the province for mosquitoes.

We had a wonderful stay at The Bay Dune Cottage. Peaceful, quiet, with view of water and beautiful sunsets. The cottage had everything we needed and the owners placed many thoughtful details throughout. The cottage was very clean, beds comfortable, the decor was lovely. My husband and I especially enjoyed the screened porch. The owners were great at communicating and let us feel that we can contact them for any reason. Make sure to have bug spray for mosquitoes. We would be happy to return.

Thank you so much Kinga. We are so glad you and your husband enjoyed the cottage and that screened porch, it's one of our favorite spots too. Really appreciate the mosquito tip for future guests. Hope to host you again sometime! Best, Rianne and Craig

About the host

We are Rianne & Craig, and we love to travel, especially off the beaten path. We bought this cottage because Blooming Point has been part of our family for years.

We wanted to share this quiet corner of the Island with guests looking for the same kind of trip we love, real, relaxed, and the real local experience.

Why they chose this property

Blooming Point is a quiet stretch on Tracadie Bay with deeded red sand beach access right across the road.

It's not touristy or built up, just dunes, water, and a real sense of Island life. We chose it because it's close enough to Charlottetown for a night out, about 20ish minutes, but far enough to feel like you've properly gotten away.

What makes this property unique

The Bay Dune sits right on Tracadie Bay with deeded beach access just across the road. It's a cozy 3 bedroom cottage that sleeps 6, with a screened in porch, a firepit, and a wood stove for cooler nights. We've stocked it with everything you need for the beach, towels, chairs, umbrellas, right down by the door. It's the kind of place where you can slow down and just enjoy real Island living.
