The Painted Lady

Renovated 1904 vintage home, 6 miles from Slippery Rock University in a quiet, rural neighborhood. Sleeps 8. Large open living room and kitchen area, dining room and sitting room/library with sleeper sofa. Smart TVs in living room, large bedroom and basement rec room. . WIFI and YouTubeTV. Large wraparound porch with gas grill. This home may have minor flaws you might expect with any 120 year old house. Pesticides are used sparingly, so you may encounter the occasional mosquitoe, spider, ant, butterfly, ladybug, etc.


The space
Relaxing home with 1900 charm and character. Clawfoot tub in original bathroom. Nicely equipped kitchen for family meals. The second sitting area includes a piano and a nice selection of reading material for a “take one - leave one” book exchange, as well as several puzzles.
There are several mature shade trees surrounding the house which provide a lovely breeze. Self check in using keypad. Or owner can meet you at check in, if preferred.
For security, there are exterior only cameras.
Guest access
The third floor attic and a storage room in the basement are not accessable to guests. The house is surrounded by landscaping and a small grass area.

Beautiful pictures of the Painted Lady do not even come close to the feeling when you walk in! It is a beautiful home with thoughtful details for a stay and everthing you may need. Multiple gathering areas but we found ourselves in the kitchen often - just like home. 100% would come again!

Great Reunion Site!

Wendy has thought of everything and Painted Lady was a perfect place for our group of friends to gather for a long weekend. We hadn't seen each other in person for 4 years and had been sad that the B&B we had always stayed at had closed. Finding this property ensured our continued happy get togethers as we have already reserved for next year.

Wonderful Home and Location

This is a beautiful old home set back in a quiet country setting. We had our extended family staying there for almost a week and really enjoyed the property. Wendy communicated with us well and there was a fresh loaf of cinnamon bread and local honey samplers waiting for us upon checkin. The house has a TON of character, from the old style room layout to the creaking stairs, it felt like we were back in time. The finished basement with pool table and tv was a real favorite with our family as a place to gather in the evenings and enjoy each other’s company. We will definitely look to stay here when in the area again.

OMG! Don’t pass this place by!

Have been using VRBO to book places for years now and stayed in several States and our group agreed NEVER have we stayed anywhere that has been so well equipped as The Painted Lady is. Nice thick towels, crispy clean sheets and lots of blankets. Dishes galore! Any kitchen item you could want is there! We all personally loved the authentic creaking stairs❤️. Would absolutely stay again.

A Perfect Home Away From Home

I stayed at The Painted Lady and could not have asked for a better experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with freshly baked cinnamon bread and local honey which was such a thoughtful touch that it instantly made us feel at home.The entire house was spotless, cozy, and incredibly well stocked with anything and everything you could possibly need. Superior customer service

This beautiful home more than satisfied my family's hopes and needs for a comfortable place to stay with two babies. The two year old started calling it "the big yellow house." Wendy has restored this home to a beautiful finish and provided EVERYTHING one could need, from laundry and bath soap to pots and pans. Her hospitality and friendly assistance was beyond compare. We were in Slippery Rock for a family reunion and hope to be able to stay here again sometime.

Wonderful!

The Painted Lady is a beautiful house and it's very clean and comfortable. There is an extra bed (daybed) in the master bedroom, which was perfect for our teenage daughter. We had a wonderful stay while in town to get together with family. There's a lovely wrap around porch, plenty of room in the house and there's even a very nice rec room in the basement. We had other family members staying at the Slippery Rock campground and it is a very short drive down the road. Good proximity to the town of Slippery Rock and Grove City outlets as well. Wendy was very accomodating and even left us delicious cinnamon bread and honey! Very well stocked: paper products, kitchen items, soap etc. Highly recommend! Great place!

Wonderful Stay

There were seven of us and there was plenty of space for of us all. The house is so pretty and immaculately kept. And the porches! Exactly as described and pics are accurate. We had a busy weekend and the weather wasn’t great so we couldn’t enjoy the house as much as we would have liked but it was a very comfortable place to relax after our long days. The house is stocked with everything you could possibly need. And the freshly baked cinnamon bread and local honey were a delicious personal touch. Wendy is a great host. Very personable and easy to communicate with. We highly recommend this property and hope to be back again in the future!

Impressive!

We had a wonderful stay at the Painted Lady. Lots of room, plenty of space for everyone, and very comfortable beds. Kitchen has everything you need and plenty glasses, dishes, silverware, etc to go around. Location is perfect to enjoy Volant, Grove City, Slippery Rock, and everything in between. Would be fantastic for visiting Lake Arthur. Simply gorgeous - highly recommend abd we hope to be back again!
