This cabin sits on the bluff above the beach facing the salmon-rich waters of the Cook Inlet to the west, providing perfect views of the sunset from inside the house or the patio! Centrally located in the Kenai, you will be 20 min from Soldotna, 1hrs from Homer, 2hrs from Seward, and 3hrs from Anchorage.
The 'Cape Kasilof' cabin is the one of 7 private cabins at the Alaskan Sunset Cabins. We have a large, quiet and quaint property - perfect for a single or multi-family stay on the Kenai. Downstairs is a combined with kitchen and living room, connected to a queen bedroom, and a private bathroom. The loft upstairs has two twin beds, and the deck patio is perfect for sunny afternoon and watching the sunset in the evening.
The cabin is in a quiet rural community on Kalifornsky Beach Road. The most noise you will hear is the soft crashing of waves on the beach at high tide, or the occasional sound of a bald eagle stopping by on the bluff.

Beautiful view, very clean cottage, friendly owners
we stayed in Cape Kasilof cottage, very clean and cozy, lovely front porch with an amazing view of Cooks Inlet and across the water, Redoubt and Iliana volcano. Woke to eagles in a tree directly in front of our cabin and closed the evening with a campfire overlooking a fantastic sunset over the water. Can’t wait to return!
Small cabin but 4 adults (2 collage aged) managed very well. Drop dead view. Juanita very accomodating with any missing items. Good value. Would definitely stay again.
The cabins are right on the banks of Cook Inlet looking straight across from the 3 Sister Mountains on the West side - Gorgeous!!!
They are basically in the middle of the Kenia Peninsula. Close to Soldotna and the Kenai cities. For all of your shopping needs. We caught Halibut and red salmon. Trout from Johnson Lake. We absolutely liked the owners - easy to talk to and VERY knowledgeable on what to do and services available in the area. This was our 6th trip to Alaska and no one has provided a better experience.
.
It’s sunset cabins for a reason. When the clouds aren’t in it makes for a beautiful evening. Highly recommended and will be using again. Very clean, immediate hot water and good water pressure as well. Perfect size for us!

About the host
Hosted by Juanita Meier
We moved to Anchorage from Idaho in 1976, and started spending summers in the Kenai soon after. We bought this property eight years later - starting with 3 small fishing cabins, and we've built 6 more since. We built the 'Cape Kasilof' cabin in 1999. We stay busy with the cabins and fishing during the summers, and enjoy the quiet winters in between.
Why they chose this property
Nearly all the lumber for the cabins came from the trees on the land where the cabins are today! Our location is conveniently close to commercial and recreational fishing opportunities, and miles of quiet beachfront along Cook Inlet. Our private, quiet property is on the Kasilof coast is centrally located on the Kenai - we are 1 hour from Homer, 2 hours from Seward, and 3 hours from Anchorage.
What makes this property unique
For those fishing during their stay on the Kenai, we have a fish processing facility on the property with freezers. If you stay at one of our cabins, you may clean and store your catch at no additional cost! You only need to provide your own packaging materials.
