As a small group we always enjoy our stays at Yvan's gite. Excellent host as always! Our 4th or 5th stay here so it's got to be good! The wildlife is an added extra here, I saw a kingfisher down at the lake, woodpeckers in the trees around the property, and red squirrels! And the on site donkey is a treat.
Photographs on website where out of dateInvestment needed on pool furniture, parasols, sunbeds & cushions. Excellent swimming pool & was cleaned by Yvan everyday.Grotto was very interesting Location excellent for sightseeing. Better location map with directions would have aided finding the property more easily. Hosts were very friendly & helpful & made our stay very enjoyable.
We had a lovely stay at Yvan's property. The house is located on a small countryside road off the D67 just outside of Thenon between two other countryside properties. The covered terrace at the back of the house looks out over the donkey's field, the sheep's field and the lovely countryside. The pool and the main outdoor seating area are at the front of the property and we accessed them through the kitchen. The pool area is beautiful, perfectly maintained and very clean. The amenities inside the house were as in the description and everything we needed was there.
sitting on the balcony with a beer or a glass of wine looking over the forest listening to the birds singing, new pool very nice, local shops good restaurant by the lake good food not far 2km, good central place to go and look around lots to do,the host was a very nice man and his wife, would go again.
We had a wonderful stay in the Dordogne. We loved the pool and the outdoor area. The rooms were clean and the owners were very kind. The beds were a little short for tall Dutch people, but we discovered that this is something common in France. We highly recommend this place to others.
Beautiful. The house is set in lovely countryside, the pool is fantastic, well maintained and cleaned daily by the owner, Ivan
Ivan was around to answer any questions but otherwise left us undisturbed.
The fishing lake is an added bonus
A great holiday, thank you
The house and pool were excellent. The house had all we needed. The cave below the house was a real bonus, The beds were good as was the kitchen. We had a great time in the pool, and used it every day.
This is our second stay at Yvans property, so it's got to be good! It suits us as there's only 3 of us, so we get a double bed each! Great swimming pool. Balcony is great for sheep watching! And wildlife in general, as you are up a height. Place is built on a cave system!
We just had a wonderful week stay in Yvan's lovely house! We enjoyed the rustic charm and an authentic french feel to the house- some houses are so over renovated it feels like a new build house inside, but Yvan's house still had that wonderful old world feel we look for, whilst having the modern luxuries of a wonderful Pool, and the ensuite bathroom, which had a GREAT shower... so good all the kids used our ensuite to enjoy the shower!Note- the listing says it has a hot tub and a pool, but I think that might be a translation error as there is no hot tub. We weren't expecting one, and it didn't matter to us, as its not something we generally look for when booking but just a note to others if it matters to you.It was glorious to wake up to the bird song every morning- it was such a peaceful and calm environment. I loved throwing open the shutters each morning to greet the day!The kids loved seeing the donkey and the goats in the adjoining field! The home was well situated to travel to all the sights we wanted to see.We all loved Yvan too!He was such a warm and friendly gentleman and so helpful with accomodating us at the last minute. We couldn't ask for a better host!He also took us on a tour of the caves in the cliff under the property- caves that were once a home for Trogylidites with their caverns and tunnels- just amazing! We had such a wonderful week staying there and I would highly recommend both the house and its location and also the wonderful hosts to others
