About this property
Bluestone House: Unshared private large swimming pond, 20 private acres
TWO spaces. A rare experience. Looking for seclusion, untouched wilderness and total comfort? Soak up uninterrupted forest views from every angle in this elegantly hand-crafted house. This sanctuary, built with local stone and reclaimed hand-hewn beams, sits deep in your own magical 20 acre forest, overlooking a private swimming pond (with fish) Dirt driveway at the end of a long dead end road = PRIVACY. Fireflies and the stars are the only light pollution here and birds the only noise.
Total safety and peace of mind in these crazy times... Bluestone House and Board and Batten cabin, on your own super private 20 acres, sandwiched by hundreds of acres of farm land and undeveloped state forrest, with trails, and of course your own SUPER private swimming lake!
SANITATION AND CLEANLINESS is taken very, VERY seriously. The home you enter will be sterilized and spotlessly clean, prior to your arrival. No one will have been in it for a minimum of a full 48 hours prior. It is strongly suggested that you arrive in a vehicle with some clearance (perhaps an SUV or a 4-wheel-drive, not a car that's super low to the ground) although it is possible in a normal car, at your own risk, just for very, very slowly...Part of the magic of this place is the deep privacy and profoundly undisturbed natural surroundings. There is a very rough dirt road that leads up to it. When I tell you the WIFI is good, I'm not kidding. The fiber optic high speed WIFI, with extended coverage, topline systems, and the best long range router money can buy is EXTREMELY good. (The average upload speed for run of the mill internet is 10mbps. Mine is over 160mbps.) What does this mean: You could have multiple devices video conferencing, gaming, and streaming HD videos all at the same time, all while someone is downloading a movie, and it would all be flawless.
But most importantly...
The enormous windows of this stone and beam retreat invite you outside into the exquisite natural world, while the post-modern furniture, interesting art collection, lofty ceilings and unique architecture call you back inside. Warm yourself by the wood stove in the open plan kitchen, or lounge on the original 1930s Hans Wegner sofa by the Swedish fireplace in the living room. Pick any book from the handmade farm-beam cypress bookshelf and settle in! No interruptions. The main bedroom features a high end memory foam King-size bed with breathtaking views out of a giant window. Sleeping in the tree tops. Wake up to birdsong, and enjoy your morning coffee on the main bedroom's patio overlooking English-style wild gardens and a babbling brook fed by a natural spring. The open kitchen, with a wall of solid windows framed by stone walls and beams, is the ultimate place to cook a locally sourced meal and have a glass of wine, (a bottle of which will be waiting for ya) then enjoy it in the rounded dining room with views of the forest, pond, and the house's unique interior.
The downstairs full bathroom features a full-size tub for a relaxing bath after a day of hiking, the Epsom-salts will be here waiting for you. The upstairs full baths shower features walls of patterned glass brick for the ultimate light-flooded yet completely private shower experience.
The large mud room, (probably the coolest room you will ever hang out in during a rainstorm) with bluestone floors, arched wall, double french doors and gorgeous views is the perfect place to open up the doors and plug in your laptop for an indoor-outdoor office space. Grab one of the cold beers (that will be waiting for you in the fridge) and kick back on one of the benches strategically dotted around the forest in the shade. This home, nestled in the embrace of nature, is the perfect retreat whether you're a stargazer, bird-watcher, nature enthusiast, or would simply like to relocate your home office to a more peaceful setting.
There is high quality radiant floor heating throughout the house, 2 full bathrooms, and high speed fiber optic wifi internet, ample hiking options, swimming, reading, and unwinding. Has the option for a third bedroom with a 2.5ft tall pillow top blow up mattress. (if you were to rent it over the winter we could arrange the driveway to be plowed for you)
ALSO, there is of course the second house! The modern board and batten paradise I built by hand around an existing 150 year old blacksmiths workshop. Perfect for a couple or individual. Photos included. It has its own internet that is super strong and although you're near the main house, it feels SUPER private.
All views are undisturbed, you are truly in a world of your own here. The photos don’t do it justice. Welcome to safety, welcome to nature, welcome to paradise.
