**Newly Renovated** 2023 New Deck & Patio Furniture

Our family recently purchased our dream home in Sister Bay. We have been looking for years, and we could not pass up such a cute cottage in such an amazing location!

Just 6 houses down from the Sister Bay Marina, this home is a stone's throw away from some of the best that Door County has to offer! Walk to the beautiful large public beach and pier, the park, the famous Al Johnson's Restaurant, the Wild Tomato, and many other great restaurants and shops.

The 100 year-old Cottage is so charming. There is a spacious family room with large windows overlooking the water. A sliding door leads to the large back deck with outdoor dining and lounge furniture and a gas grill. Enjoy Sister Bay's amazing sunsets on 85ft of private frontage with your family and friends.

If you decide to eat in, there is a full kitchen with a small breakfast bar and dining area. The master bedroom, also on the first floor, has an ensuite bathroom, small sitting area, and full-size wooden crib for anyone traveling with little ones. There is a full bath and 3 more cozy bedrooms on the 2nd floor; 2 queen bedrooms and one bedroom with a full size bed. Because this cottage is older, to get to the small full-size bedroom, you must go through one of the queen bedrooms. This has never been a problem in the past, but we want to make sure it wasn't a surprise! There is also a pull-out couch in the family room if you have 10 people.

House is wonderfully equipped and could not be in a better location. The water view is to die for. You won’t want to leave it to go anywhere! It’s hard to find a four bedroom home and this one fills the needs we have for spending a week with our daughter and two grandkids. Owner Adam is quick to help in any way he can. Highly recommend the home .

Beautiful home, location second to none

The home is well kept, has everything you might need and more. Being so close to town is so fun. You can walk everywhere. The hosts are attentive, welcoming and great caretakers of the property.

Sister Bay house on the lake

The property has been renovated and is quite comfortable. Well stocked. Plenty of bedding and towels. The location could not be better for walking into town. There is ample deck furniture for sitting outside.

Perfect location, breathtaking views

Our family had a great visit to Sister Bay and Captain’s Cottage. Adam and Brigid have done a great job with the property and staying waterfront is such an amazing experience. The house had everything we needed- it was my wife, me, our 3 kiddos (7 and under) and my parents. We were plenty comfortable. Highly recommend.

This was our second time staying in this incredible Sister Bay home, and it was every bit as perfect as the first. The location couldn’t be better—right on the water and just steps from everything downtown has to offer. The views are stunning and make it hard to leave the property, even with so much to do nearby.The home itself is spotless, beautifully furnished, and designed with every detail in mind. It feels both luxurious and comfortable, making it easy to relax the moment you walk in. The kitchen is fully equipped, the bedrooms are spacious, and the outdoor spaces are unbeatable for enjoying sunsets over the bay.What really stands out is the consistency—the owners clearly take pride in keeping the home in top condition. We loved our first stay, and this second visit confirmed that this property is a true gem in Sister Bay. We’ll absolutely be back again.

A Dream Come True!!!

From mornings with a cup of coffee on the deck listening to the waves …..to the beautifully amazing sunsets, this property was the most perfect place to house our family for the week prior to the wedding of my son in Sister Bay. So many family memories were created there and our hosts were the kindest, most attentive people. I never wanted to leave! Everything was so well outfitted, beds were comfy and the property is well appointed and so convenient to charming Sister Bay! Highly recommend!!!

Gem in Sister Bay

The house is in immaculate condition. The updates are well thought out and very pretty. We enjoyed being out in the back yard and loved that we could walk to our favorite Sister Bay spots. With no dock, we rented a slip at the nearby marina and it was perfect. We had all the housewares, linens and supplies we needed.

Another Great Time at Captain's Cottage

This was our third return to this cute home on Green Bay. The owners keep making upgrades, with improvements to air conditioning, a Jura coffeemaker and a beautiful new deck to catch sunsets. My son used the kayak, and the little girls had fun with the bean bags. Having the town of Sister Bay steps from the front door is always a plus, and the owner was quick to respond to any questions. This is a rare find. Enjoy!

A Magical Lake House

Where to begin with this beautiful home! My spent 1 week in the Captains Cottage celebrating my Door County wedding. Finding this home was truly too good to be true...everything was pure perfection. The location, the decor, the owner, the amount of space, EVERYTHING. We had the most amazing week, made so many memories, and we can't wait to return. Adam was so accommodating and helpful every step of the way, we can't thank him enough for that! We love you, Captains Cottage!

An amazing lakeside property! The stunning views, convenient location, and fully stocked kitchen make it a perfect place for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The newly remodeled bathrooms, especially in the master bedroom, must add a touch of luxury and comfort to the experience. As for the bedrooms, it’s interesting about the layout with access to the bathroom through one of the bedrooms. Having the 4th bedroom accessible only through the 3rd bedroom can be a unique arrangement and might require some coordination among guests. Nonetheless, the stunning views of the lake, great location, and the variety of outdoor amenities like the fire pit, pedal boat, and canoes still make this lakeside property a wonderful place for a memorable stay. Enjoy your time by the lake and the beautiful surroundings! 😊

Another Great Stay

Our family, now plus one under the age of 1, returned to the Captain's Cottage this year and had another great stay. The property is in great shape, and the owner is planning a new deck for next year, all the better to watch beautiful sunsets from. The house is immaculate, stocked, and has location location location for those quick walks to Sister Bay. We WILL return.

We loved staying there, location amazing, house was so cute and comfy. Wish there was a pier but being on lake was still amazing. We were disappointed that our time was already booked for the following year before we even left and had a chance to rebook. We looked again for another time and price has gone up so significantly, which is great for them but not for us. Overall amazing property and home. Hopefully we can stay again some time.

The property is beautiful. We had a great time. Our party consisted of 4 children aged 1 to 6 and 5 adults. It was a great experience for all of us. I was able to teach my grandson how to fish right out in the back yard. Can't say enough.

Perfect Family Lakeside Retreat!

We had the most amazing time at the Captain’s cottage! It was the perfect setup for our family! Kids ages 3 and 1 and the cottage had it all! Crib, pack & play, booster seat, & wonderful toys! We enjoyed a lot of time outside watching the boats go by, making s’mores, and enjoying the beautiful sunset. The cottage is equipped with everything you could need! The location is fantastic and in walking distance to everything Sister Bay has to offer. We cannot wait to go back! Thank you so much to the wonderful hosts that have turned this old cottage into a Serena & Lily catalogue shoot! We loved everything about it!

A Sister Bay MUST STAY

We could not have asked for a better stay. The house was so large and accommodating for our 10 person group. The location is so close to all of the bars in sister Bay and was perfect for fall fest weekend. I honestly thought when I booked it that this place was going to be too good to be true end it was everything they described it to be an morn. Highly, highly, highly recommend this stay if you have a large group and you plan on Sister Bay night life

Great relaxation on a Great Lake

The experience, from start to finish, of renting this house was above expectations. My family wanted (actually needed) a quiet, clean and comfortable place to recharge after the past year and a half of stress. Adam's house fit the bill perfectly! Attention to detail (even leaving a gift basket that took into consideration a peanut allergy in the group) was noticed and so appreciated. The house is just steps away from 'downtown' Sister Bay, yet at night there was peace...the only sounds that of the waves lapping against the shore. We certainly hope to enjoy their hospitality again...and HIGHLY recommend this property if you need a place to relax, reconnect and/or use as a base to explore other parts of Door County.

Don’t want to but have to say it’s perfect!

Perfect location, great remodeled home with all the needed things for a family vacation. The extra bathroom is great and the crib with changing table was great for our little guy. I could stay all summer if I could afford it. The yard, outdoor furniture, grills and solo stove were a bonus for my husband. We would go every year if we could secure a week. The hosts are kind, thoughtful with added touches and quick to respond. The only concern for some is there is limited parking but it was not an issue for our family.
