The house was even better than expected! Perfect for a week in the sun. We enjoyed that it was secluded from neighbors but not far from the essentials. The host was quick to respond! We hope to stay at Torchview again!
We had a great stay overall. The house is beautiful, the rooms were comfortable, and the dock was easily accessible, which made it perfect for spending time on the water. Really enjoyed that the house is so close to Key West and right off the highway. There are a couple of maintenance items the owners may want to address. The flooring has some noticeable peaks and valleys throughout the home. It didn’t affect our stay, but it does seem like it will need to be redone in the near future. We also noticed that the area underneath the exterior of the house Outback could use some remediation and general maintenance. Overall, it’s a lovely property with a great layout and location, and with a few updates, it would be an outstanding place to stay. We would definitely return to this property.
This was our 3rd time staying here and once again it did not disappoint. From Key deer in the front yard to great fishing off the dock everything was awesome. We can’t wait to come back for our fourth stay!
We really enjoyed our stay! The house was very clean, and we greatly appreciated the hosts allowing us to check in early beings we arrived to the keys super early :)The only thing that made us a little nervous was the water situation. The house runs on a rainwater collection system, and with kids, we tend to take several showers and rinse off often after swimming in the salt water. There also wasn’t an outdoor water hose to rinse off our snorkel gear and kayaks, so we found ourselves trying to conserve water and hurry through showers because we were worried about running out. Thankfully, we never actually ran out of water during our stay!Overall, the house was clean and comfortable and we had a great stay. I would just recommend that families who have kids or plan on doing a lot of swimming, snorkeling, or kayaking be aware of the water system ahead of time! We would definitely love to stay here again! Now that we know more about the rainwater system, we would just come prepared knowing that we need to be a little more mindful about conserving water during our stay.
Great place but I didn’t realize it only had a rain water collection system. The water is at the street so hopefully that changes soon. Minus 1 star until treated water is hooked up.
Great place, beautiful water to fish, snorkel, kayak, paddle board. Clean , comfortable house. Sunsets on the wharf are amazing.Tarpon, parrot fish, snapper everywhere
Beautiful spacious property and home, with great long dock. Good variety of wildlife seen daily along with terrific sunrises and sunsets. Excellent nearby restaurants.... Kiki's, Broil and Little Palm Island.
This was the perfect getaway. Close enough to drive up and down the keys but secluded enough you feel like you are in your own little world. Spent many hours out on the boat dock taking in the views and the wildlife. Sunsets on the dock are amazing. House is beautiful and on a dead end road. 45 minutes to Key West and 2 hours to Key Largo was perfectly situated for us.
This is the second trip my family has made and we truly love everything about it! Just being there take away all life's stress and my family truly has time to connect. The access to the water is key for all the water activities we love. We will be back again!
Been coming here with the family for spring break since 2017. We have loved the relaxing, snorkeling, fishing, swimming, beautiful sunsets, and all the keys offers. Probably the last year now the kids are in high school and college so this last trip was bittersweet. Highly recommended for families.
We enjoyed our stay, and all as advertised. Dock was fun to snorkel around. House was stocked but kitchen needs a good cleaning and organizing. Water pipe broke as soon as we tried to do laundry and flooded the downstairsOther drawbacks were the challenge of not having water for boat cleaning after day on water, and pretty buggy.
