1826 Turtle Dunes is perfect for a smaller family vacation or a couple looking to get away! Designed to be practical and beautiful, the oceanfront condo is equipped with everything you may need, including high speed WiFi and TVs in the living room and both bedrooms.

With a king bed in the main suite and one queen size and a Twin bed in the guest bedroom, there are sleeping accommodations for five. 1826 boast nice linens on beds.... Both full bathrooms are nicely updated and stocked with bath Towels, soaps and other amenities.

The kitchen, which overlooks the living area and the amazing ocean views, is fully equipped with stainless steal appliances, The electric glass top range is new in 2025 and has a built in air fryer feature...fully stocked kitchen with housewares for cooking in...a culinary adventure for sure!

While staying in 1826 your family will have full access to the beautiful and spacious Sea Turtle shared pool, which is seasonally heated. Also having entry to the Dunes Club tennis courts directly across the street.

In front and behind the Turtle Dunes complex, guests can access the many walking trails in the Amelia Island Plantation (AIP.) These picturesque trails wind through the oceanside and marshside of the gated resort. The AIP community is a beloved 1,340-acre paradise that is surrounded by maritime forests, tidal salt marshes and pristine, sandy beaches. Dining, shopping, and spa services are offered at the Omni Amelia Island Resort, located within the AIP.

While staying in this luxury villa you can stroll through the plantation shops and restaurants, recharge at the nearby spa and salon, or visit the miniature golf course just down the road. The Resort has more than just an array of amenities, it is its own small community within the most beautiful and secluded region on the entire island. The Resort encompasses the southern tip of the island and offers 24-hour security with private gate access only. This is truly a paradise within a paradise!

Nearby, bike and golf carts can be rented to explore the larger community and venture to community playgrounds like Drummond Park and Aury Island.

Historic Downtown Fernandina Beach is a 20-minute drive north on the island and has fantastic dining and shopping options. Driving south on A1A will take you to the Talbot Islands, wonderful nature preserves known for gentle hiking and excellent birding opportunities.


While at this rental, guests can also enjoy the miles of walking and biking trails in the Amelia Island Plantation (AIP.) This sprawling 1,340-acre gated community is surrounded by maritime forests, tidal salt marshes and pristine, sandy beaches.

Dining, shopping, and spa services are offered nearby at the Omni Amelia Island Resort, located within the AIP. Golf is also available within the AIP The closest golf courses are Little Sandy and Oak Marsh Tee times can be scheduled online,but there are many other nice courses in the area.

I traveled with my spouse and 9 year old daughter. The stay was excellent! The condo was clean, comfortable, and beautiful. The kitchen was well equipped. Beach and pool access were very easy!!!! And the ocean views were incredible!!! Dee was personable and accommodating. Beautiful place!

Beautiful location

The property was exactly like it was listed. The condo is located in the very back of the resort. The resort is large, highly recommend a golf cart to experience all the resort has to offer. The beach and pool were never crowded. The view from the condo was beautiful. Highly recommend if you are looking for a lowkey vacation rental.

Awesome week at Turtle Dunes

We just returned from a week at Turtle Dunes and had the best time. Communication with the property manager was excellent. She gave us some great suggestions for dinner. We had young and old with us and all seemed to have a great time. The condo is on the second floor right near the stairs which was very convenient coming and going. The view of the ocean was beautiful, and we saw the turtles taking an afternoon stroll most days. We are already looking forward to next June when we head back to Amelia.

Beautiful oceanfront condo!

My husband and I enjoyed this condo so much! Amelia Island is so peaceful and so is this condo complex - we barely heard any other people during our stay. The pool is so lovely with waterfall features - just steps from the condo. The oceanfront views from the balcony are incredible! We will be back! Dee is a great property manager - we will rent from her on our next stay.

Perfect Family Getaway!

My family and I spent a week at Amelia Island, and this condo was perfect! It was truly the most relaxing vacation we have ever had, and we all came home feeling rested and rejuvenated. The condo is well stocked and had everything we needed, including little things like chip clips! There were plenty of towels and washcloths, the beds were comfortable, the unit was very clean, and the A/C works very well in the unit. I have three children, ages 13, 11 and each were able to sleep in a bed, which was wonderful. The building was quiet in the evenings, and my children all slept later than they do at home. The beach was beautiful and uncrowded, and only a short 5 minute walk from the condo. We loved coming up from the beach to enjoy some pool time before heading in each afternoon, and watching the turtles cruise around the grassy area and dunes was very unique!The property is a short drive from the Omni resort restaurants and shops, and about a 20 minute drive into downtown. The drive is a small tradeoff for a very relaxing vacation! We would love to rent this unit again in the future!

Great unit, great view

Dee has kept the unit very well. It has everything you can ever think of wanting. Beach towels, beach chairs, good quality shampoo, soap, conditioner, enough garbage bags and cleaners for an entire week. Kitchen has everything as well. The unit has a great view of the lawn and the ocean. So we were quite happy about that. The master bedroom is large and airy, but the second bedroom is a little dingy - very little light. Location has great proximity to the ocean, but it very far away from main fernandina beach that has a lot of restaurants etc. additionally - we saw a snake and two coyotes on the building property just steps away from us. So we got scared as we have a puppy and we wanted to leave as soon as possible So I would definitely say that this property is great for humans, if you have pets.. then maybe go to main downtown fernandina beach

family vacation

we love Amelia Island we go every summer. Love the Omni plantation Resort, Turtle Dunes very nice love how close it is to the beach. Communication with Dee the property mgr. was not good. And I think she over charged me so many extra fees Long list of things she wanted cleaned she even wanted me to wash towles. I rented 2 other units on the same floor .they did not have all these fees. They also were so sweet had a gift bag of gourmet chocolates in each unit. We needed 3 units & I wanted to be on same floor so I had no choice but to rent this one. I do love VRBO have rented through them many times, this was my first bad experience. Master bed was awful time to replace. The ad said only small dogs I met the people who rented this unit last year they had a big golden she said it slept in the twin bed in bedroom was not happy to hear that.

Melodie, I am so very sorry that you would leave us a 3-star review. In 13 years I have never received a review like this. We seem to be even with our experiences with one another! To be honest I am just about 5 STAR in all of the properties that I manage. When I can not leave a good review I normally will do so anyway so the guest will not have future problems when trying to BOOK/RENT on VRBO. Or just not review them at all. The unit was left very dirty and I found stains throughout on several items. I did not contact you because your temperament was not good to begin with. The communication started off poorly because you became very irritated as to how I send out my arrival information. I explained why and that my processes have worked for everyone previously over all these years. I made sure that you have very clean accommodations...The master bedroom mattress was just changed out 2 years ago. Our reviews besides yours reflect this. We do only allow small dogs. The Golden retriever was an exception, it was a favor for another owner who lived on the Resort, and her children and could not find a property that had been canceled at the last minute... and that Guest will not be able to rent from us again after their departure inspection. Wonderful visit in June!

Amazing property, amazing views, and Dee was a perfect host! This was our second visit at the property, the last visit August 2021. The Turtle Dunes condo is great for our family of 3. The condo is clean and comfortable. We loved the new combo Keurig. The pool and beach access is very easy. The beach was not crowded when we were there and was very relaxing. Our daughter loved the beautiful pool and enjoyed playing with other children. Our vacation was great. Thank you, Dee!

Turtle Dunes 1826

Excellent rental. Property was in excellent condition and Dee was very responsive to a couple of items needed. This unit was supplied with the essentials needed for a 2 week stay with items needed for laundry, dish washing, minor other cleaning needs, etc. This was the best we have seen from any unit we have ever rented and know Dee was responsible for all of this. She is the best.

Very clean condo with great ocean view

We enjoyed our week at Turtle Dunes on Amelia Island. The view from the condo is fantastic and steps away from the beautiful uncrowded beach. We enjoyed watching the sunrise from the balcony. The condo was very clean, kitchen was very well stocked, and living room was very comfortable and homey with lots of pillows and cozy blankets. The unit had two bedrooms, but we only used the master bedroom which had a very comfortable king size bed and great views of the ocean. The condo also has new large washer and dryer. There were plenty of bath towels, beach towels, beach chairs and even 2 bath robes were provided. Check in process was very easy and smooth. The guard at the gate had all our information and Dee, the property manager, provided us with the door code at check in time. The location was only about a 20 minute drive to the town of Fernandina – which had lots of shops and great restaurants. There were also other great restaurants closer to the condo/plantation. The only disappointment was that the pool on the property was closed for renovations. The listing said the pool was recently renovated in 2019, but did not mention it was closed again for more renovations. However, Dee did allow us to use a pool at another condo complex which was about a 15 minute walk via the beach. We ended up driving to that condo when we wanted to use the pool.
