Columbus Blue:A Rustic Mid-Century Modern Bungalow
Welcome to Columbus Blue! This rustic bungalow was built during the Kern County mid-century modern architectural boom of the 1960's, with the most well known being the Frank Lloyd Wright Albin Residence in Bakersfield. Design-wise, this translated into homes that emphasized geometrical forms, angular features, and large windows to help bring the outdoors inside.
Located only 10 minutes to Miracle Hot Springs and the Kern River, come enjoy the serenity this architectural marvel has to offer!

We loved the house. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen and TV were awesome! The A/C kept the house super cool in the very hot weather and the nature spots in the area were absolutely spectacular.
We came to the area to raft the Kern. Bodfish was only 20 minutes from Kernville and well worth the drive. House was clean, neighborhood was quiet, beds were comfortable, and Dean was readily available via text although I did not need to reach out as everything was laid out for us upon arrival. We would definitely stay here again.
This house is so comfortable and has everything we need including a fenced in yard for our dog. It's a short drive to hot springs and a short drive to our favorite spot on lake Isabella! We come back every year! Love it!!!
My husband and I had the BEST time in this clean and cozy bungalow. Dean was a super kind and attentive host. He had great recommendations and the Kern River Brewing Co was my favorite recommendations of his. Bodfish, CA is a perfect central location for travelers looking to experience Death Valley and the Sequoia National Forest in the same trip! We loved staying here and it was dog friendly!!
This is very nice small house in the quite location. It’s close to everything. Short drive from the lake and the river. A lot of local businesses (restaurants and stores) very short drive away. Close to the neighboring towns, and drive away from Sequoia forest, 100 giants trail.

Aleksey visited and was great guest! Excellent communication, followed all house rules and left the home clean. Welcome back anytime!
I was heading up for business originally but decided to bring my wife and our three dogs for a Memorial Day weekend vacation when I learned about the area. There is so much to do and see with Lake Isabella and the Kern River! The property is located in a nice and quiet area about 10-20 minutes from most of the campgrounds, with easy access to the adjacent towns and all sorts of activities. We loved the fenced in yard that allowed us to just relax with our dogs and the home was very cozy with a lot of natural light.
The host provided us with a nice list of recommendations, and we didn't have time to check them all out so we'll definitely be coming back!
Thank you again for letting us use your property!!!

The house locates a short drive from the hot springs. It's very clean and comfortable. Our dogs enjoyed the fenced yard and loved swimming in the lake.
The location is very close to downtown Kernville. The house was very clean with everything that you might need in the kitchen. The property manager/owner (Dean) was more than helpful in assisting us where to go for near by restaurants or a bar. Thanks a lot Dean for all you help.
Outdoor enthusiast, loves to travel and enjoy food!

Grew up going to the Kern River Valley. I've always enjoyed all the outdoor activities this area has to offer such as fishing on the Kern River, boating in Lake Isabella, soaking in The Miracle Hot Springs and more. Figured I'd get a place of my own in the area as it's a true hidden gem.
