Thank you Kevin, had an amazing time with the family! Peaceful getaway! Great for the kids & adults. Easy to book, communication great with owner. Drive to Gettysburg & DC with in 2 hours depending on traffic. Recommend this property 100% for large families with kids!
Our entire family enjoyed this property. The little ones loved the wooden ship and the adults loved walking the property and sitting by the awesome fire pit. There was plenty of space inside for the 15 of us. We just loved this place and cant wait to rebook!
We had a great time at this property. The owner was very responsive to any questions or concerns. The property is very spacious with toys for the kids inside and a beautiful swing set, volley ball court, and ship playground outside. We enjoyed feeding the fish and using the fire pit. We are looking forward to coming again on our next vacation!
This large house was a perfect space for our group of 12 adults to stay for a ski weekend, with everyone having a comfortable bed to sleep in. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook our meals. We were able to find the house just fine via Google Maps. I would return to this VRBO in the future.
I was surprised to see there is no tv in house, internet was very slow, and that the bunk beds in garage were listed but was then discouraged to use them and the room was musty. Overall we enjoy all this place had to offer us and owners were very easy to access for questions.
The house was about bigger than the pictures and fit my entire family well! My family gets together every year to spend time together and this property did not disappoint! The back yard kept all the kids super busy, from slides, swings, volleyball, exploring the woods, building a fort, and playing on the pirate ship. It was great that the kids were so busy because it allowed the adults to just talk and visit! It was a nice break from tv and technology too!! The only down side is it is 20 minutes from everything…so plan your grocery trips accordingly. But if you are looking for a secluded place that the kids can be kids in the wild, then this is the place to stay!
Absolutely wonderful retreat. Everything was as mentioned on the listing! Easy check in! So much to do on the property! Will be returning in the future definetly!
This was our second time staying at this property. Obviously we loved it the first time. Our experience was just as good the avacation. The kids loved playing on the boat and going down the slides. They enjoyed the creek and paths in the woods and had many adventures with pirates, princesses and fairies. They enjoyed feeding the fish as well. Everyone, including the adults enjoyed the swings. The open floor plan allowed everyone to hang out in the evenings together, but socalizing. Because of the layout of the property we were quite comfortable allowing the children to explore the woods in pairs of small groups on their own and provided opportunity for the adults to have fellowship. We made two outside trips. One to Berkley springs where we explored the town and one to a nearby hiking trail. A good time was had by all. The kitchen has no dishwasher but everyone pitched in so the dishes were no chore. Also, there was no TV, but we didn't miss it. Plenty of familly time together.
Kalvin did a good job explaining my many questions related to our archery trip. Not many deer in the area but the property is very relaxing, no neighbors in site and plenty of property to have fun. Enjoyed the campfires every night at the new firepit. Plenty of room to spread out.
This is our second year at this venue, and we're hoping to go back next year. Our group consists of grandparents and three families with kids aged 18M to 11 years old. We all spent a lot of time outside as the weather was beautiful, and there are swings, slides, a fish pond, a pirate ship and a fire pit out back! The only thing that would make it better is a dishwasher. :-)

This was a great place! Lots to keep you busy and able to enjoy the outdoors. Plus well stocked and cleaned.
The property was well maintained and plenty spacious for our large family. The kitchen was well stocked and the kids loved all the outdoor activities. Highly recommend if you want a trip away from the hustle and bustle of a busy life.
All of the children enjoyed the play set, swings, slides, fish pond, trails and the creek. My grandson especially enjoyed building structures out of sticks by the creek although due to dry conditions there wasn't much water. Even the adults enjoyed the amenities including the fire pit and swings. Because of the layout of the property the children could be seen or heard from the deck no matter where they were. The house was comfortable and roomy for everyone to gather. We did not use the bunk beds in the garage but did enjoy the shuffleboard game. Everyone thought it was the most relaxing vacation we have had together.
Four families/three generations gathered to celebrate Father’s Day. There was plenty of room with 6 bedrooms. The main room was extremely large and gave the kids plenty of place to play…..but then there was the pirate ship and the slides and the volleyball court AND the hike to the creek with snakes, turtles and crawfish. The adults enjoyed fire pit and cooked great ribs on the grill. It is a bit remote but we loved it! Everyone wants to come back!
Held my dad's 70th birthday weekend here. Plenty of room for the whole family to stay, and we had a bunch of kids over on Saturday for the party - the outdoor activities were GREAT!
Everything went swimmingly.
Can't recommend it enough.
Everything you can expect for a delightful cabin in the woods. It’s quiet and peaceful. We loved our stay here, you can tell the hosts have put so much love and care into their home. We were so happy to enjoy the new year here. Thanks again for your hospitality and we hope to come back soon!
This property is just stunning! The playground was a hit with the kids and the landscape/views were breathe-taking and relaxing for us adults. We decided to do something different this year and spend Thanksgiving away. And it was such a great place to do so! The kitchen had all we needed and more for us to cook our feast! No tv's but this was a great way for us to reconnect. Being in nature always has a way of centering. You wont be disappointed in this sweet getaway.
We loved the house and property, great setup for family get together and outdoor fun.

Hidden fees and stinging surprises
We had a very difficult time finding this place before realizing they were special directions that we needed to seek out.
After finding the beds had no sheets, my husband reached out to the owner who had apparently emailed with attachments, explaining linens weren't included & would be an extra fee if we didn't want to bring our own but this info wasn't made available through the booking information on the app so we were not aware of it prior to arriving. This should be in the listing, prior to payment.
We had to buy new bedding and were grateful our camping towels were in the van.
We weren't made aware of the serious pest problem, including European wasps getting into the house anytime the door was opened & required a great deal of time and energy spent hunting them & avoiding opening the door so they wouldn't get in. The owner was already aware of this problem & I feel this should have been something that guests are warned about, in case of allergy or aversion. There were also a lot of dead bugs on the floor by the bed in the front room (with washer).
The garbage disposal was not functional & the sink drained slowly because of it, which we reported. We checked out a day early due to the abundance of problems causing a change of plans. The front door would not lock, the digital lock seemed to be malfunctioning. Owner was unreachable, in church but had left numbers to reach other family members, who were able to direct us to exit another way, to lock most of house.
