Cozy Historic Schoolhouse w/ Hot Tub + Views

Thank you for staying with us, and for your kind words about how clean and updated you found the Schoolhouse. We take every concern seriously, and I'm sorry for the inconvenience during your visit. Here is how each one was handled. Thermostat: When you messaged early Sunday morning, I replied with a quick fix that usually resolves it. When that didn't do the trick, I was at the house within 10 minutes. Once I had the thermostat seated, it read 72 degrees inside. Because it wouldn't stay in place, I arranged a replacement right away. You asked me to finish the repair while you were out that day, and I was happy to work around your schedule. A few wires behind the unit were keeping it from seating properly; I corrected them and tested everything, and you confirmed that afternoon that it was working well. Toilets: When you messaged at 6:45 Monday morning, I called you within minutes, had my plumber on his way by 7:00, and he arrived as you were checking out. He found the septic system working exactly as it should. The backup was caused by a large wad of toilet paper lodged in the line, which he cleared that morning. The plumber's visit was at our expense. In six years of hosting, it's the first clog like it we've ever had. Before you checked out, I issued a partial refund without it being requested, because I didn't want your stay to end on an inconvenience. Though the existing toilets are less than three years old, new toilets are also already scheduled for January, when we close each year for maintenance so repairs never disrupt a guest's stay. For future guests: my phone number is posted in two places in the home, and I'm always glad to take a call, day or night, if anything comes up. We're close by and quick to respond, and we look forward to welcoming you.
