The house was perfect for a girls short getaway weekend! We liked being able to cook our meals while sitting at the kitchen island and visiting. Our favorite was the fire pit. We were able to enjoy a fire in the cool night air and loved that we could see the stars. The location was great for getting out and about to visit local wineries. We have already talked about going back next for another girls weekend!

Sounds like a fun weekend!!! So glad you all enjoyed it and look forward to having you back, thanks so much!!!
We had another great stay at the cabin at Linn Valley Lakes and Tom was a great host. I woke up one morning to see three female deer with five baby deer playing in the yard. So cute!

Hey! Thanks again and we were so glad to have you back! Hope you had a great summer!
Very cozy and comfortable house in the woods. It's not a big place, but it doesn't feel cramped. The beds were comfy and it was very quiet.
We really enjoyed our stay and Tom was a great host.
The check in process was so easy, and Tom was very responsive to any questions we had. We enjoyed the porch in the morning watching the deer, and the fire pit at night stargazing. Helpful book of things to do and places to go nearby.
Pleasant weekend stay. Lots to do in Linn Valley Lakes — we fished, played golf, swan, and enjoyed the fire pit. The cabin is good for family of 4-6. It has all the amenities you need (with the exception of an outdoor grill).

Thanks so much for the kind review! You were excellent guests and we'd love to have you back any time! ***We do have a grill in the shed so it will be waiting for you on the next stay! Thanks again & take care!
Great little spot close to the KC area but far enough away. Enjoyed the dock for swimming and fishing and the pool was great too. The home was stocked with everything we needed and then some. Really enjoyed the bunk room for our purposes. Correspondence w the owner was fantastic.
Thomas has a beautiful little cabin at Linn Valley Lake. We enjoyed the community pool and the Lake Store’s pizza and barbecue. Great weekend getaway. Loved the fire pit area. Cabin has everything you need. Kitchen is very well done, A/C was very good and the bed was comfy (memory foam). You won’t be disappointed.

Thank you so much for the kind review!!! You were fantastic guests and we would love to have you back anytime. Take care & enjoy the rest of your summer!
Everything was great lots of communication before the trip.
During he was good when contacted for exact address.
Sad that we got bug bites and felt like our concerns were dismissed. The restaurant at the golf course that was recommended by the host treated us aweful
Wait 20 minutes after asking a staff member if we ordered at the counter or if they came to the table.

Hi Kenneth,
I appreciate your review and the info. You did not tell me about the restaurant, it is usually great. It’s a small community and with it being a very small town on a holiday weekend, I’m sure they were busier than usual. But I am sorry you has a bad experience there.
As far as bug bites go, you didn’t say anything until after check out. My wife & I cleaned the house ourselves that day and did not see any bugs at all, which I let you know you when I received your message. Once you did tell me, we went back there to double check and found no bugs inside. I even double checked the dirty sheets & towels to see if there was anything in there, and there was not.
I am sorry you got bitten up but it did not happen from bugs in the house like you mentioned to me. I was all over the situation immediately to make sure there was not an issue and then let you know.
It is a lake in a rural area in the summer. Bug spray is your best friend in those conditions. I get eaten alive and my wife barely gets bit. I am very sorry you felt I dismissed your concern but I was all over it immediately. I also did not want to be defensive or offend you because I know we do a great job cleaning the house and maintaining the property. Hence why I was all over checking to see if there were bugs in the house.
I am sure you can understand why this response is so detailed as I do not want any new or repeat guests thinking there is a problem with the house. There is not.
We strive to make sure everyone has a 5-Star stay, and most do. We are sorry you did not but hope you come back and you are welcome anytime. The house was left in great shape and we appreciate it. I do hope the rest of your time was enjoyable!
Take care and all the best,
T&K
A Quaint place in a safe neighborhood, but will not be returning
The host was a nice enough gentleman. The properties in a good location. Upon arrival, we learned that the shower is extremely small and hard for any grown adult to use properly. There was also dirty dishes inside of the oven that had not been cleaned and still had food on them. The outside Spicket does not work as well. Read closely as the Wi-Fi is turned off, except for a few months out of the year. The host proceeded to only give me half of my security deposit back after sending me pictures of dirty towels on the floor “where we are instructed to leave them” a broken bottle in the fire pit “we never use the fire pit” and some feathers on the porch that came from a trash bag that was ripped into by raccoon of some sorts because there is no trashcan on the property. You must drive your trash up to the dumpsters at the front of the complex. Again, the owner was kind leading up to this, but I am a little frustrated about not getting my money back after cleaning up and checking off everything his to do list. His justification being he needs to pay the cleaners more to clean the place? It is a quaint place in a safe and good location, but we will not be returning.

I’m sad you hear you felt this way. You were more than happy and thankful with everything and did not mention any issues other than asking if an outside spicket worked until I arrived to find a lot of issues above and beyond normal cleaning. One being feathers and blood all over the front porch & driveway which you promised would not be an issue as I said I have had issues with hunters not cleaning up properly after themselves and this specific issue being a problem - hence the extra deposit. You left broken glass in the fire pit, rust stains in the shower, hairballs in the shower, left illegal drugs in KS on a shelf in a cabinet, blood stains on floor inside the house, ruined stained towels, grease on floors, outside cabinets, in trash drawer, debris, dirt, mud, burrs in the house. Not to mention the wifi box was ripped out of the wall. I sent you photos of everything, too. There was also some kind of black tar on the floors in a few spots. The place was filthy and we expect our guests to treat the house like it is their own.
We had a thorough discussion of cleaning expectations prior to approval & that it’s not a hunting cabin, it’s a lake vacation property and you said it would be in better shape than you found it. Frankly for how gross it was left, $100 extra cleaning fee was more than fair for all of the extra cleaning required which you agreed to. 5 Star Stay is a 3 star when you have to pay extra for additional cleaning I guess. Please don’t request to book again.
About the host

Lake life is the best life so we wanted to share our special place with you!
Why they chose this property
Our family started coming to this lake years ago and fell in love right away. We bought this house and gutted it and just finished a complete remodel down to the studs in 2023. We hope you love the lake, pools, golf course, and all of other great amenities like we do!
What makes this property unique
The Red House is on a quiet street with only one full time neighbor. It is so peaceful out here, off the main roads but perfectly located for everything the lake has to offer right by the gold course and the main lake. We hope you find it as special as we do!
