Excellent cabin and property for the two of us with a small dog. Location is absolutely ideal for all of the area from French Lick to Jasper. The property was amazing, large, and perfect for wearing the dog out before bed time. Cabin was well stocked with interior essentials and plenty of firewood. Seating inside is “cozy” but honestly there’s so much to do out and about you barely notice until late evening. A property.

My husband and I booked a last minute holiday weekend trip and had a lovely stay! The cabin was exactly as described. We enjoyed hiking the trails nearby and sitting on the porch in the evenings. French Lick is a fun place to visit and we will definitely be back!

So glad you both had a good stay! You were outstanding guest! Hard to tell that you were even there!!
Just the place we needed .
The cabin was immaculate. We appreciate the opportunity to stay at your cabin. It was perfect for us for our Lake Patoka weekend .
This was a beautiful cabin, just as described. Plenty of extra amenities for our family and pet friendly. It was super close to French Lick and 40 minutes from our other adventures. We will definitely be staying again!
The quaint getaway was a nice place to visit. I loved the clean little cabin that had just what you needed. The trails on the property are nice. I wish the cabin was a little further away from the state road, although there is plenty of privacy.
This is a cute little cabin that worked well for our family of 4 and our small dog. We enjoyed fishing in the pond (caught 23 fish) and hiking on the property. It is clean with comfortable beds and is well equipped.

Loved the little cabin! It was exactly what my husband and I were wanting for our anniversary weekend. The fall mountain feel but not that far of a drive. Love that it was 6 minutes from French Lick and 25 minutes to Patoka. Cabin was clean and cozy and loved the country setting! Will definitely be back 😄
Excellent location and great place to stay…we enjoyed privacy , fire-pit , walking trail , and card board games, along with some cave attractions around the Area. Julie is really helpful in quick guidance and coordination.

About the host

After decades of Nursing my husband and I built an Escape Room business which I now manage. We have since purchased this property with the desire to create an outdoor escape. Our first cabin was built by myself and my husband, a computer programmer enlisting assistance only to install the 3 main beams. The Countertop, shelves, coffee table were all made by us from a Cedar tree which had to be removed in order to build the fishing pond. A second cabin, fully off grid is in the process of being built far to the North of this current cabin. 1/2 mile from the nearest roadway.
Why they chose this property
This property was the original site of the town of Hillham and later was a camp ground. It’s a beautiful site with a small lake and wooded hills but also close to all of those must do’s on your list! My husband and I both grew up with a lot of space to run, hunt and explore. This property is our way of allowing couples, families, and kids to have the experience and wonder of experiencing the outdoors away from crowds of people. Sit for hours releasing milkweed seed, watching a box turtle wander through the woods, gazing at the spring running out of the cave. Just an opportunity to unwind and take a break from the day to day demands of our current society.
What makes this property unique
For those avid walkers, there are over 2 miles of rugged wooded trails on the property for you to explore. These trails are being further expanded and refined. For the animal lovers/bird watchers, there is an abundance of wild life including deer, squirrels, raccoons, and rabbits just to name a few. You might even see the elusive Bobcat! We have seen or captured images of 5 different bobcats on the property. Equine lovers, feel free to bring your horse, we have plenty of room for you to park a horse trailer. Renters are free to ride their horses on our trails. We are also establishing multiple mushroom plots and log totems. Next year we are expecting the start of a continued growth of Shitake, Oyster, and Lions Mane mushrooms. Morels are native and can be found throughout the property.
