We had a wonderful stay at the Doublejack Guesthouse. Bob met us at check in and showed us around. They offer plenty of brochures and info on activities in the area. The bed is very comfortable. We enjoyed the kitchen for a quick bite in the morning and the breakfast items provided were a very nice surprise. Loved relaxing on the deck and saw many birds including a cardinal. The 75 stairs to the house are worth it. We Will gladly stay here again!

Probably top 3 coolest places we have ever stayed in, and we’ve been in some nice ones over the years. The house was spotless and immaculately detailed. The kitchen was small, but every tool needed for a quality meal was provided. And the custom coffee good too. Extra points for the coffee grinder.Matt

The place was great and a wonderful place to relax and then to enjoy the fun town of Bisbee. Although the 75 steps up to the guesthouse are real, we made it even with bad knees . And the climb was worth it!
Here is a look at the 75 steps.

The entire place felt very homey and comfortable. A perfect stay; the patio was one of our favorites enjoying the view, birds and the stars. The amenities were thoughtful and added a nice touch for our morning coffee on the deck. Close and easy walking distance to town, the stairs were a great workout! Lol all in all, highly recommend.

We had a lovely time at this guesthouse and hope to be back some day soon. I thought the parking instructions were over the top but when we got there, it all made perfect sense (thank you, Bob!) We really enjoyed the comfy bed, well-appointed kitchen and the sweet and thoughtful touches from our host (like the Bisbee history and bird books), the views of the valley, and just enjoying the birds and stars while out on the patio. Everything was clean and bright while being historic and funky. We loved our stay at the Doublejack!

The Bisbee location was ideal for enjoying hikes and walks to dining options. We're relatively fit seniors so we didn't mind the steep inclines. We appreciated everything our hosts made available. Watching birds gather outside bedroom and living room windows was delightful.

Anniversary getaway

A beautiful place and wonderful owners to deal with. If you are not in shape and want to get a good workout, it's a 75 step juant up stairs to the guest house, but definitely worth it!! Would stay there again!

About the host

Hosted by Bob Klein

Host profile image
Tucson Magazine named Bisbee, Arizona “Best Place to Get out of Town” for 2009, but we discovered this charming historical mining town on a road trip years ago. It was late afternoon and the sun was just setting on the red-colored mountains that surround Bisbee when we drove into town for the very first time. It was like we were looking at a picture-perfect postcard! One year later we came back for a second visit and it was during this visit that we bought a 100-year-old boarding house (which we made into our home) and the 110-year-old miner's cottage (now the Doublejack Guesthouse) next door. We love it here! Your hosts, Jeff & Bob.

Why they chose this property

Bisbee is a friendly and accepting community which offers everything from fine dining to old-west saloons, mining history, Victorian architecture, great hiking and world-class birding opportunities.

What makes this property unique

Whether you come for a weekend getaway or spend the whole week, you won’t run out of things to do or places to eat at. From a stone-baked natural pizzeria to a gourmet take-out café offering local wines, cheeses, breads, tons of house-made desserts, sandwiches, salads and more, one won’t go hungry in this town! Bisbee offers something for everyone – fun things to do, unique lodging, art galleries, and loads of shopping. In 2008 Arizona Highways named Café Roka and in 2009 Bisbee Breakfast Club among the top 25 restaurants in all of Arizona. History buffs will discover an award-winning Smithsonian affiliate, the Bisbee Mining and Historical Museum. For the adventurous, there is the underground Queen Mine Tour. One of the best ways to experience Bisbee is to just get out of your car and walk around the charming alleys, stairways and sidewalks of Old Bisbee. Come with your sense of adventure and leave with a renewed spirit!
