Old Bisbee

As advertised, the home sits on a hill overlooking Bisbee’s historic downtown. The home was nicely appointed and a short walk to shops and restaurants.

Great location

We had a very nice stay! Loved the location, close to everything. The only thing negative was that there wasn’t a yard or enclosed area for our dogs but just the fact it was pet friendly was great and we of course adapted and figured out where to walk them etc.

Family trip time!

Paul and Brenda‘s house was quaint and very representative of the history of Bisbee. There was everything you need for a stay. We brought our own food and there’s also a grocery store nearby. We ate out twice and the dogs enjoyed the small courtyard and porch. Paul and Brenda were wonderful to work with and communicated promptly. Thank you for sharing your home with my family. We will return to Bisbee!

Perfect location

Great Bisbee experience. Once we arrived we were able to walk everywhere, didn't use the car again until we left. The deck overlooking Bisbee had the perfect view day and night. Really loved our stay here. A couple things to note, the stairs are narrow (this is Bisbee!) and there is not a bathroom upstairs. Not a big deal for us, but it might be for some. Would definitely stay here again.

Fun and Funky, Like Bisbee

This was exactly what we wanted for our stay in Bisbee, and we would definitely stay here again. The view from the deck is fantastic, and there are stairs that lead right down to the main street. That said, it's only fair to note that families who don't like funky won't like this place as much. The stairs are very steep, the carpet is old, and the toilet is tiny. If you read that last sentence and shrugged and thought, "Yeah, but look at the view from the deck and the price," then this is the place for you. The hosts are wonderful and the location can't be beat. But don't stay here if you expect brand-new, or cookie-cutter.

Stay in Bisbee

Good morning Paul and Brenda are staying in Bisbee was excellent the house is very charming we had a wonderful time your place is clean and we loved staying there. There are a couple things that you should know the main light in the kitchen didn’t work we tried to change lightbulbs it still didn’t work we left a cover on top of the refrigerator. The porch light did not work and we couldn’t get the cover off to change the lightbulb. The bathtub you should seriously think about putting some sticky pads in the bathtub it was kind of sketchy getting in and out. Also in the bathtub the handles the way they reversed on and off hot and cold there should be a little note there I scolded myself thinking I was turning the hot water down and I turned it up up. The stairs to upstairs you should have something on your bio for the house that says it’s a steep stairway for somebody that doesn’t do well with stairs it could be extremely difficult all in all we had a wonderful stay at your place is very nice and we look forward to staying there again

Clean and comfortable living with a view in the heart of Old Town

I had a great long-term stay here. Brenda and Paul were excellent hosts and ensured I had everything that I needed during my stay. I had plenty of space for everything I needed and had easy access to everything and town. I'll definitely come back here on my next visit!

Issues of concern

There are definite drawbacks to this house for older folks, anyone with a disability, and a family with children. The stairs are narrow and steep, with direct opening from the bedrooms that present real danger of falling. The tub in the bathroom is all but inaccessible due to height and it is dangerously slippery with no grab bars. It needs a mat or skid strips, so scary. The living room furniture is dirty and stained, Goodwiill rejects. The refrigerator door handle is missing. On the plus side, the house was clean, plenty of dishes and utensils. The “long term renter” next door was rude and unpleasant, making parking difficult. I believe the owners should alert potential renters to the above issues and rent only to young couples with no small children and no mobility issues. Also could be sure to supply soap in bathroom. Great choice of networks to choose from, thanks, but really dirty couch needs to go.

Nice spot in town

Nice house in great location. I would comment on the amount of stairs, but in Bisbee stairs are a part of life. Nice clean house, well stocked with everything you need. Porch has a great view. Parking was ample and on property which is not always standard in Bisbee. Will definitely rent here again.

Great View

This was my third stay. This old home has a large patio with a great view. Your car will enjoy covered parking. It’s a short walk to downtown; to a set of stairs that will take you on the Bisbee 1000 stairclimb route;; and to trails that will lead up to the mountains above and plenty of different routes to enjoy.

Wonderful Bisbee getaway.

The house was lovely. We didn't spend a lot of time inside. The beds were comfortable and all of our needs were met. Our only complaints are the shower curtain is way too long and the coffee pot has a crack that leaked coffee all over.

Nostalgic Home

I walked thru the front door of this home and felt like I was walking into my Gramma and Grampa’s home in the 50’s. I expected to see a bowl of Malt O Meal on the kitchen table. This is Bisbee, people, with all its wonderful quirks, weirdness, and friendly wonderful colorful citizens.

A nice home away from Minnesota winter.

Upon finding the place, I was able to walk everywhere. I could choose steps or hills to regulate the stress on my knees....and lungs. I wanted to stay for another month. I wanted to do it again next year but failed to sign up quick enough. All problems were addressed with owners.

Host profile image
We are a growing family living in the Seattle area. We love VRBO and have had great experiences! We enjoy traveling and think vacation rentals are a great alternative to hotels. Our style of travel ranges from camping to vacation rentals to finding fun boutique hotels to spoil ourselves every now and again. We enjoy hiking and checking out local eats. Paul and Brenda have travelled separately and together. We each spent a year studying abroad in college (Seville, Spain and Florence, Italy). Paul has lived in all four corners of the US, as well as, a few years in Mexico City, MX, while Brenda has spent the majority of her life in the wonderful Pacific Northwest.

As far as hosts, we are pretty hands off (since we live in Seattle!) but are happy to answer any questions and give suggestions for things to do in and around Bisbee. Paul's mom, Cathy, is a local artist and is a wealth of knowledge. She has lived mainly in Bisbee for the past 40 years. Her work and contact info can be found at

Paul and Brenda have traveled both separately and together and plan to instill a love of travel in their children over the years. Paul went to Washington State University, studied abroad in Seville, Spain, and received a degree in Communications. He now works as a Marketing Director in Family Entertainment. Brenda attended Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, studied abroad in Florence, Italy, and obtained a degree in Special Education. She taught for 8 years and currently manages their vacation rentals and spends the days with their spunky daughter (who will be a big sister in February 2016)!

Why they chose this property

Paul spent many summers running amok in the town of Bisbee. With his mother still residing there, Bisbee is a wonderful place for them to escape the bigger city. Bisbee is such a charming and fun place with the option to explore and adventure or just sit back and relax.
