About the host
Hosted by Gwendolyn Campbell
Bryan and I (Gwendolyn) bought the Historic home in 2015, I absolutely fell in love with it and the quaint waterfront town. The "Cottage" at the time was being used as a glorified storage shed. However in the past it had been many things, most recently about 2011 it was known as a small little Bar called "The Bee's Nest" then it became a small convenience store. When we first bought the property we did a quick fix up of the cottage and our son and his wife moved in and rented for a while. After buying their first home we were trying to decide what to do with the space. Open another store? Move my gift shop into the space? So Many possibilities, but we finally decided to open it to guest visiting our little town. Currently there is not a place to stay right in town, and we wanted to share our love of it with others. It is a great little weekend getaway location. Not wanting everyone to refer the space as a Bar (mine you we love a cocktail or two from time to time) We decided to give the property a whole new name, Gwendolyn's Marigold Manor (Cira 1900). We are so happy that we took the time to look at this property, it was meant to be, we came to town to downsize, buy a little condo on the river, we said, ha ha ha. Gwendolyn
Why they chose this property
Beautiful 1902 steamboat gothic home. We have 3 different units, The King's Quarter's, The Queen's Suite and The Cottage out back. take a look at all of them. They are all designed to be an AirBnB not a Bed and Breakfast so each unit is totally private to you. We are within walking distance to everything! Our Waterfront Premade is 500 ft. away! Restaurants, Parks, Museums, Coffee Shop and Gift Shops. We love our Historic home and love being able to share it with visitors and guest!
