Lazy Bear Lodge — The Sandifer’s House on Lake Bruin


Welcome to our favorite escape and home away from home! Located on the deep water side of beautiful Lake Bruin, our lake house will not disappoint.

Enjoy a cup of coffee as you watch the sun rise over the lake, or grill on the porch and watch it set across the pecan orchard. Park your fishing boat in the slip, or just enjoy the paddle boards and other dock toys. Or, if you are looking for a beautiful location for remote work, the house is fully equipped with WiFi.

The kitchen is open and well-appointed, with a new fridge, range, dishwasher, and huge farmhouse sink. The bar seats six, and the large table in the same room seats 8. We have recently poured a slab and added a pickleball court out front!
When it's time for bed, the house has a large master with a king bed and an en suite bathroom, featuring both a soaker tub and separate shower. The second bedroom has a queen bed, and the third bedroom has two bunks and a twin (plus an inflatable matress for an extra friend). Our children's favorite place to sleep, though, is the sun porch, which is enclosed with a window unit AC. It has 2 twin beds and a trundle.

Great place to stay. Rooms are large and the place is very comfortable. I loved sitting out on the screened-in porch at night. The pier was also very relaxing. Cute little downtown area with 2 restaurants, DG and a grocery store near-by. We drove over to the casino and had a nice time there too. Secluded - but great for relaxing

Much needed Lake Weekend

Perfect property to enjoy time on the lake! All the amenities needed and then some! The kid’s favorite was paddle boarding, and sleeping arrangements were perfect for everyone especially the big kids! Property was super clean and kids never got bored. We will definitely will book again!

Every time we stay here we have a wonderful family vacation. Easy access to their boat house for our pontoon . They have chairs to sit and enjoy the pier. Ping pong table in outside kitchen/screen room. Beautiful view and friendly owners .

Great Place!

Everything was just as shown in photos and description. The home was spacious and just right for our family. We loved the screened in porch with air conditioning for the grandkids to have their own space. The owner was extremely helpful in communicating and making sure we were comfortable. The house was very clean and the the lake is beautiful.

Very relaxing

The house was lovely and well equiped. We had everything we needed. We were able to fish off the pier and park a boat. It was a very relaxing vacation with plenty of room for everyone. It was great having a grill to cook on we even grilled the fish we caught. We pick up some off Tim's tamales in St. Joseph, they are the best tamales ever. The kids enjoyed fishing and didn't want to go anywhere else. It was a great vacation! Thank you for letting us stay in your house!

Another wonderful trip!

This is my family’s second time staying at this lake house and we can’t wait to come back. I can’t say enough good things about it. Beautiful property and lake, very clean home, well furnished, and excellent host. Large enough to gather together but also space to have a quiet moment to relax. From fishing and boating to grilling and relaxing, there is something for everyone. This is a great property to slow down and spend quality family time. We have stayed at many lake rentals and this property is at the top of our list of favorites.

Absolutely beautiful and relaxing environment. All of us enjoyed our short stay. There were a few maintenance and cleaning issues that needed attention. Dirty toaster oven, drawers old lining, dirty garbage receptacle in the master bedroom and kitchen. Clogged bathtub drain. The next day we declogged the drain filled with hair. Dish towels stained but presumed clean. Dishwashing soap dispenser emptied. No additional supply under the sink. No sponge to hand wash the large items except small brush.

The house is in a very good location with a nice dock on the lake. The entire house is very nice but the kitchen is definitely one of the nicest of all of the VRBO properties we have stayed in. The beds were comfortable and everything in the house worked like it should.
