Upscale Country Cottage on 22 acres and a Pond

This all brick rancher with a full basement has been totally renovated after sitting vacant for 20 years. It sits on a beautiful 22 acre lot, with a 4 acre pond stocked for fishing. There is a small forest of bamboo separating the house from the road, which is why we affectionately call it the Bamboo Cottage. It boasts 4 large bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. The large family room has a flat screen, smart tv, extra long couch with 2 chaise lounges, and a cozy gas fireplace. The dining room has a scenic window overlooking the yard and a dining table that seats 8 people. Renovated with tasteful tile floors, granite counters, and stainless appliances, the kitchen is the heartbeat of the home. The bedrooms, family room and dining room all have hardwood floors. The basement is perfect for entertaining with another flat screen tv, pool table, "live edge" bar top area, half bath, laundry room, and 4th bedroom. The attached 2 car garage has a ping pong table and corn hole. There is a screened in, side porch that offers relaxing views of the pond. There is a small back deck off of the kitchen and a small patio space with table and chairs just of the french doors of the walk out basement.

Lovely home in a convenient location. At the time, it was decorated for Christmas so was beautiful! It does need some added items in the kitchen (additional utensils and silverware, and a casserole dish would be great) but nothing that took away from the visit.

This was great for our family to be able to stay close by as we got married in town. Plenty of space to spread out and activities. The kids loved fishing off the dock and playing pool!

Perfect bridal shower

Family Christmas

Amazingly perfect set up for multiple couples to enjoy family time together! Fishing was a lot of fun on the dock and the pool table and ping pong table were a hit. Stunning Christmas tree by the fireplace was great for pictures. The first vacation for our family as adult couples and it was the perfect house for this.

This house is a great little property but the bamboo is annoying. Had to remove some of the cut down trees so they wouldn't scratch mour cars. Great pool table plenty of room for the group.

Very comfortable stay for our family. We were impressed that the knives in the kitchen were better quality than most places we have rented as we have some gourmet cooks in our family! Owner recommended the sweetest woman to care for an elderly family member. Owner was quite responsive to my many questions. All adult family members enjoyed the stay.

The Country cottage was a great place for our Family members to stay for a family function in Powhatan. The house was clean and as pictured. Access to property and contact with host, was professional.The Screened in porch was popular.The pool table and ping pong in the basement was fun.The air conditioning worked great.The location was great and not noisy inside.The Pond and dock were a huge hit, caught several large bass.I did hang a balloon on the mailbox so guests wouldn't miss the driveway.

Perfect House

This was the perfect house to spend Christmas weekend with our adult daughter, son, daughter-in-law, and 5 month old grandchild. We laughed, opened presents, and ate way more Christmas cookies than we should have! Heather is very responsive to questions. We would rent this house again for sure!

Great Stay!

We had a lovely stay at the Bamboo Cottage! It was the perfect spot for some family to gather for a weekend. Lots of outdoor space for the kids to play. We all hung out on the dock and skipped stones. The living room and screened in patio were great for adult relaxation after the kids went down. We visited both the distillery and coffee shop in nearby downtown and went further out to a brewery and cidery a little further away. We would definitely return if returning to the area. :)

The house was well cared for and nicely decorated for Christmas. The kitchen needs to be better supplied, cracked plates, mismatched glasses, some plastic dishes. Mini blinds in 2 bedrooms need to be replaced. Very nice screened in porch, but too chilly to use.Great location since we were visiting family nearby.

Wedding Base of Operations

This is such a beautiful property! It was perfect base of operations for my daughter's wedding. Bride, groom, parents of the bride, along with bride's sister and her boyfriend stayed there. Everyone was from out of town, so this gave other folks a chance to stop by and visit before the day of the wedding. We're definitely going to come back. Such a peaceful location!

We enjoyed the property. The super size couch was especially comfy! We were a little worried about the proximity to the road, but there are so many trees we didn't hear any road noise at all. Very much enjoyed our stay.
