Don’t miss the traditional fishing port of La Cotinière with its colourful trawlers, as well as the brightly coloured oyster huts at the famous Marennes-Oléron basin.
The entire island is criss-crossed by a comprehensive network of bike paths and offers an ideal setting for walks and hikes, between the old salt marshes and the two forest areas of Saint Trojan and Boyardville. Of course, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of Fort Boyard from the entire east coast, especially from Saumonards Beach.
Finally, throughout the season, daily boat services will allow you to either spend a day in La Rochelle or take a boat trip between Fort Boyard, Île d’Aix, and Île de Ré from the port of Saint-Denis.
