About this property

Heated pool at the Heart of Tybee. Walk or bike everywhere 8 bikes for guest.

Welcome to the Wandering Mermaid. Check out the new pool and outdoor sitting area with fire pit.

The kitchen has white granite counter tops with white/blue cabinets.
The dining area features a large farm house table that can seat 10 people. The living room continues the coastal vibe with 2 large couches and an oversized chair.

The master bedroom is an oasis with king bed, 13 ft ceilings and a quite seating area. The master bedroom closet is so large we stuck a full size bed in there if needed for extra guest. The kids room upstairs is adjacent to the master bedroom with full bed with twin over. The second king bedroom and queen bedroom are located on main floor and share a bathroom. Check out video with drone footing to get a birds eye view of the area.

There are several bikes available for guest use along with gas and charcoal grill. The grilling area downstairs has a sectional sofa and chair with a 6 person table along with a full outdoor bath.

We provide a starter kit of soaps, shampoos and paper products along with filters and coffee for a standard coffee pot. There is also a keurig. There is an IGA grocery on Tybee that is a short walk or bicycle ride from the house if you need additional supplies. Additional charge of $50 per night to heat pool October thru April 1st. The home was perfect. It had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and the place was decorated nicely and made you feel at home. The location was walkable to many shops, restaurants,and the beach.Can’t say enough about or hosts and the neighbors they were all fabulous and very accommodating. Definitely would go back again.

This place was the perfect little getaway for our group of friends. There was plenty of space for 8 of us and we loved the heated pool and outdoor lighting! The outdoor shower and restroom by pool was clutch and all the different seating areas was great. Highly recommend this rental and the location is walkable to 15th street beach access!

The listing photos do not do this house true justice, and it is decorated perfectly. Everything you need for the beach, pool etc.. you can find on the property. My family enjoyed all of the property especially the pool. The location is perfect (within two blocks of beach& town)we walked , biked and rode the golf cart everywhere. The only negative is that we messaged the host the day before our checkout to request staying an extra day and did not receive a response until the next day after we had checked out. The response was yes so it would have been nice to know that prior to packing up and leaving. Over all though it’s was wonderful stay!

A wonderful stay!

We really enjoyed this beautiful and comfortable home. The location is very convenient and the pool was especially awesome during this hot week. The owners were available and attentive. We would definitely stay here again!

Great Home and Location

Our family of 7 (5 adults and 2 kids) thoroughly enjoyed this property. The color scheme and decor makes the house cozy and comfortable. The beach, restaurants and stores are in walking distance. I highly recommend staying at the Wandering Mermaid!

Beautiful Home

Location of the property is perfect for short walks to the downtown area. We rented golf carts and found that to be the perfect way to explore the island. The home is very well maintained with everything needed for a great vacation. The bikes and beach equipment was an added convenience. The home itself is well maintained and tastefully decorated.

They have done a great job with the place. It’s exactly what we were expecting and more. I would recommend this house to anyone that has a decent size group. Very friendly people. Great communication. Walking distance to anything you should need. Overall stay is a 10/10.

Perfect place for a getaway

We only stayed the weekend but this place made us wish we could have stayed longer (much longer). The pictures do not do this place justice. It is so spacious and clean. There is so much natural light filling the house that we did not turn the lights on until it was dark outside. Even with the weather being overcast and rainy our whole stay, the inside still felt light and airy. It has been updated throughout. The location is perfect. It is located a short 2 block walk from most of the restaurants in Tybee. The area is quiet and peaceful. Finally, the owners were SO friendly and EXTREMELY responsive. We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip to Tybee/Savannah.

Beachin Stay

The house is beautiful and we felt it was in the nicest area of tybee island as well. We got to meet one of the hosts, very kind and even fixed a couple bike tires that gave out while there. Did not expect that! They have a fleet of bikes ranging in size that we used all week for our group ages 1-58/31”-74” tall ha! Enjoyed this home which was very clean and lovingly updated throughout. The outside has so many excellent hang spots too. A surprise hit was the outside bathroom (we’re midwesterners, what can we say). Just an excellent place centrally located although I’d go as far as to say you can bike about all of tybee regardless of where you’re coming and going to. This is a perfect vacation spot for families with littles with ease of travel and the soft un crowded beaches! The only thing I would suggest for visitors is if you stay in the upstairs sleeping areas take a sleep mask because the sky lights in tons of sun of course! Wouldn’t want have stayed anywhere else!

Perfect home base for multiple families

My husband, my 5 yo daughter, and I stayed at the wandering mermaid for 10 days. His parents, brother, SIL, and two young nieces (4, and 1) stayed with us for the first five days and my sister and niece (22) stayed with us for the the last three days. We enjoyed having so much space to spread out. Individual family members and small groups of family members could do their own thing, and then we all gathered for dinner around the big table multiple times A few of us rode bikes to the light house or to make quick runs to the beach. My husband loved cooking gumbo for the whole family in the well-equipped kitchen. I loved quiet, shaded mornings reading on the balcony. Our daughter and nieces loved the the bunk beds - tho actually slept with their grandma I the big top floor bed. And, I believe each of the adults took and outdoor shower and loved having that option. Thanks Vickie and Bobby for providing so many creature comforts.

Communication with owner was the best! We had people arriving from four different areas. Two early arrivals were able to park at home before check in - late lunch parking was non-existent within two blocks of any restaurant. House was comfortable for our eight adults, toddler, and infant. Everything needed for cooking meals was available. Sofas and beds were very comfortable. Great outdoor space that easily accommodated all of us. Plenty of bikes! Also plenty of chairs and great beach wagons, although we didn’t utilize them - heat wave during our stay kept us on the property most of the time. Check in and checkout went without any hiccups. We would stay here again on any trip to Tybee!

We loved this home, super well maintained and close to the beaches, restaurants, shopping and an easy drive into Savannah. We enjoyed the pool and appreciated everything from the beach towels to the comfortable living room. The kitchen was well stocked, and there was ample room for six adult adults.

Probably the absolute BEST house we have rented on Tybee so far! It was 2 blocks from town a 7 minute walk to the beach and came with bikes and a pool. The pool area included a gas grill, outdoor dining table, outside bar and a comfy sectional. The owners are very nice and accommodating. Would most definitely rent this house again. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. Four of our 5 grandsons were there and they had a BLAST.
