About this property

Welcome Downtown, superb loft!

You will be charmed by the superb loft and the neighbourhood located in a street full of life! Indeed, the rue St-Joseph which is the heart of the city center is full of beautiful surprises. You can discover a multitude of restaurants, bars, bakeries, cafes, grocery stores and more! Not far from Old Quebec, you can easily walk there and have a memorable experience of our magnificent city.

There are all the necessary amenities: television (Netflix), a fully equipped kitchenette, salt, pepper, oil, coffee and a laundry room upstairs. It is also possible to have an extra bed or a playpen. Notify us before your arrival. In short, everything to allow you to have a good time!

I will be happy to answer your questions via Airbnb. In case of emergency call me.

There are two large neighborhoods in Quebec, here is the description. The first neighborhood, old Quebec, is the one that everyone will visit. At the beginning, the fortifications were to protect themselves from the English, now it's to keep tourists inside;) In short, this area is super beautiful, you will love it. On the other hand, it is mainly made for tourism. You can buy an "I LOVE QUÉBEC" t-shirt there.
The second is mine. The city center which is right next to the old fortification in 10 minutes on foot you are there. I highly recommend this neighborhood. Here you will live with the locals. Rue Saint-Joseph is a superb commercial street where you will find everything you need without even using your car. On this street you will find Everything you want Shop of all kinds, cafe, restaurant, bar, nightlife, grocery store, pharmacy etc. all within walking distance.

You won't need your car here, Everything done on foot, If necessary the bus system is very efficient.

Good Location But Apartment Needs Work
Starting with the positives, the location was smacked on a street packed with restaurants and cafes and a supermarket around the corner. For those who are not adverse to walking uphill, it's quite an easy journey to the waterfront and all the major Quebec City attractions. As far as the apartment went, a note of caution for travellers with lots of luggages - there are no elevators in the apartment block and storage can be a bother if you arrive before check-in time. The door to our apartment was really hard to close and open and it seemed to be out of alignment with the door frame. The mobile A/C unit was extremely noisy and couldn't cool the room adequately plus the only window in the unit couldn't be opened to let fresh air in because it was sealed. Finally the TV didn't work as there was no coaxial cable connecting the TV to the antenna outlet. Even YouTube didn't work and kept buffering before freezing every few minutes. I hope the owners take remedial action to make this apartment a much more enjoyable stay for others.

Unsafe neighborhood
The street was blocked off to this residence and parking was unavailable nearby. Located city parkade and felt very unsafe leaving vehicle unoccupied overnight. Neighborhood is full of degenerates and crackheads. We abandoned the 2nd night and found a hotel in a safer neighborhood.

Great access to the city
Excellent location and access to the city for anyone who doesn't mind walking up steep hills. The AC unit is very loud, the hallway and stairwell odor is tough to get past but once inside you have a decent room. The immediate area provides plenty of places to eat, drink and see. Responses from the host were a bit delayed and while we asked for a spare bed because the description indicated they would provide one if we asked, it wasn't actually provided. Luckily we'd planned ahead and brought an air mattress just in case. I'd stay there again even with the lack of communication from the host.

Great Location!
Overall, this is a great place to stay! My friend and I love to walk and this spot was great for navigating around downtown QC. There are several lovely boutiques, restaurants, and shops on the street. The grocery store is also only a block away. It is a bit of a walk to Old Quebec, but it was fun to explore the different routes to get there and really soak in the old European influenced city. The room worked for our stay, but I should note a few things during our stay: there is AC but it is quite loud (we're heavy sleepers though), the bathroom door is a barn style door that does not really close fully or lock (this is a privacy thing), and some of the linens on the bed should be replaced (not just washed) as they had a lingering musty odour. Otherwise, this is a good value place to stay and would recommend for those traveling on a budget.
