About this property

That Seventies House

All houses are unique, what sets this one apart? Lets start with the California passive solar design that includes an open floor plan, and expansive South facing glass. Pull back the drapes, and a ray of sunshine will warm you through and through. Next notice the natural woods and stonework. There is a rock wall with fully functioning fireplace, and yes, I will supply the wood. A large exterior deck is great for entertaining and stargazing!
Now about that name...Built in 1970, and with an address number 1970, how could I resist? True to the seventies design era, prepare your eyes for some zany colors!
Nice, but why should you come here? We are located just one mile from the Silvermines Recreation Area and St. Francis River. This is a somewhat underused park (typically not crowded) with river access, and steep rugged hiking trails on either side of the river. There are stunning viewsfrom 200' cliffs of Precambrian granite and felsite rocks. You can explore the ruins of a stone cut damn, and the remains of the Einstein Mine that operated sporadically beginning in 1877, and ceasing operations completely by 1946. The trail on the East side of the river goes on to connect to the Milstream Gardens Conservation Area. I will have trail info, and hiking maps for you at the house. Please feel free to contat me regarding the accomodations, or the area.
Thanks -Shirley
