Discover your mountain log cabin getaway with room for everyone! This home is spread out over 3 floors with 5 bedrooms sleeping a total of 14. It is located on a private cul-de-sac in a gated community situated on the New River. Enjoy your own private pond with dock and gazebo, porches on 2 levels overlooking the water. Inside enjoy an open floor plan with a 2 story family room, open concept dining/kitchen with seating for 16. Wrap around porches provide a relaxing atmosphere to rest and recharge. The lower level provides a bunk room, second bedroom with King bed, bathroom and large family/game room with bunkbeds that opens onto lower level porches overlooking the pond. Master is on the main level with new mountain log King bed, private bath and covered porch access overlooking the pond. Upstairs discover 2 oversized King bedrooms with a twin bed and bathroom. Bring your fishing pole to fish in the pond, neighborhood hiking trails, 5 minutes from tube/kayak rentals. Easy driving distance to West Jefferson, Mt. Jefferson, New River state park, Grayson Highlands, and the Creeper trail. Welcome to Running Doe Lodge where you can experience: rest and relaxation, hiking, biking, tubing, kayaking, pond fishing, fly fishing, small town charm, shopping, wineries/breweries, and a great place to make memories.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Running Doe Lodge! The floor plan was excellent for our family of nine, and the property was very easy to access with plenty of parking.We especially appreciated the abundance of king-sized beds, well-stocked kitchen, fishing pond, and the many family-friendly games available on site. We caught quite a few bass using worms—and unfortunately, one snapping turtle that managed to snap the line before we could retrieve the hook! Hopefully, he was able to spit it out and live a long, healthy life in that beautiful pond.The linens were comfortable, the decor was exceptional, and we really enjoyed using the gas grill and relaxing on the incredible 360-degree wraparound porch. The views from every side were beautiful. The large kitchen table comfortably accommodated our family of nine, and we especially appreciated having a high chair available for our toddler.We also enjoyed a family outing to downtown West Jefferson after visiting Glendale Ridge Farms for a VIP farm tour. The tour was fantastic—we got to feed and learn about chickens, goats, sheep, alpacas, and even a very friendly donkey!We hope to return again in the future. Running Doe Lodge has plenty of room to accommodate our growing multigenerational family, which makes it an especially great fit for us.Thank you for sharing such a wonderful property with guests and for the excellent job you do keeping it clean, comfortable, and so well maintained.

We had a wonderful time at this cabin. It was very spacious for our family (we had 11 for our trip) and very clean. The kids loved the ping pong table downstairs and fishing in the private pond behind the house. My son caught a very large catfish and lots of bass. We enjoyed walking the neighborhood and going down to the river. Our host was wonderful and very responsive. We cooked every night and the kitchen had everything we needed. We also loved the decorations and homey feel of the cabin. I give this home a 10/10! Thanks Tana!

Check in was easy, because of the keyless entry and communication from our host providing all the information we needed. We loved the wraparound porch with ample deck furniture and outdoor grill. We also enjoyed the fire pit. So nice for sitting around and sharing stories and memories. The kitchen was large and very well stocked. The views were lovely, and we appreciated being in quiet and peaceful surroundings. Great spot, great hosts, plenty of parking too
