This cabin was perfect. The location is very convenient to the ski resort at Beech Mountain and check-in couldn’t have been easier. The cabin is well situated with split a floorplan that gives each family member/guest their own isolated space if needed. The beds were very comfy and the master bedroom steam shower was amazing. Would stay here again without a second thought.
Enjoyed all the space for our family gathering at Resting Beech Face, including a comfortable great room with fireplace and views, games, movies, pool table, steam shower, and lots of separate areas to enjoy quieter time!
Our stay was fantastic. The house was awesome and our hosts were perfect. If we had a question they responded within just a few minutes. We would definitely stay here again.
This cabin is ideal for ski vacations to Beech Mountain or the surrounding mountains. A majestic view, wonderful amenities and game room, and very family friendly. A bit tough to find and the address is not well marked but once in, a great experience.

Thanks Andrew! We are so pleased you enjoyed our place. We're sorry you had a tough time finding the house, and your comment prompted us to order a sign to post on the stone pillars on either side of the driveway, so future guests have a better landmark. Thank you for this helpful feedback, and please stay with us again!
The house was exactly as described, the owners thought of everything and were super friendly and easy to communicate with. The house was so close to Beech Mountain Ski, which was exactly what we were looking for. The pool table upstairs was fun family entertainment. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Thanks so much, Tara! We’re so glad you enjoyed your stay!
Resting Beech Face was the perfect vacation house for our family. Not only was the central core (the living room, kitchen/dining area, and deck) a great place for gathering, but the house was designed to allow for privacy and quiet times as well. The view from the deck simply could not be better, and the location made it very easy to get anywhere on the mountain (and off) with minimum driving stress.

We’re so thrilled to hear you enjoyed your time at the cabin! Please come visit Beech again. :)
What an incredible home to have stayed while on Beach Mountain!! The entire stay was a pure blessing and our hosts were excellent!! The steam shower was really cool and enjoyed by everyone!! The view of the mountains from the deck is magnificent! We saw lots of wildlife and enjoyed the hiking trails on Beech. The pool table was used daily and we even constructed a tournament between family members. If we come back to Beech, we'll look for this property's availability first.

This is such a kind review! We’re so glad you enjoyed our home. ☺️ Please come visit again!
It was beyond our expectations. The only small issue was we enjoyed the bedroom windows open but there were spider webs between the screen and glass. That should be addressed.

Thanks for letting us know, Mary! We’ll ask our cleaner to cover this when she gets an opportunity to deep clean soon. Spiderwebs and cobwebs are really common in our mountain home, and we’re always vacuuming and cleaning them away!
The view was great. We were very impressed with how it was so Clean !! Some of the bed pillows could use a refreshing clean smell. The green velvety ones had bed head smell. The kids had a great time with the Legos. We were in the master room that was under the pool table room...that was not really a good Idea...
We were gone most the time . Meals were easy to prepare had all the utensils . We saw a lot of deer even hand fed them apples...Amazing !! We loved our stay.
The next best thing to owning your own cabin is renting this cabin from Alex and Alexandra.
The pictures do not do the inside justice. The views, even with low lying cloud cover, were spectacular. You’ll be blown away by sunrise over the mountains and with the telescope in the game room you’ll be star struck by the night sky.
The cabin was clean, well stocked, and very comfortable.
The cabin pictures are accurate, but when you checkin you’ll want to take note of the cool little touches that abound, such as the decorations on the pool table.
This host is highly recommended. They were timely and responsive in communications, honest in their descriptions, very clear on functionality of the features, and thoughtful in how the cabin was stocked.
This cabin has my highest recommendation if you want to enjoy the mountains, but feel at home.

Ed, thank you! It is truly the best feeling when we hear guests had a wonderful time and enjoyed our sweet cabin. We are so, so, so glad that you all had a lovely trip and enjoyed your time there! Come visit again.
Stayed a week in this beautiful Beech Mountain cabin and did not want to go back home. Absolutely stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains! Was blessed to get 5+ inches of fresh powder the last day we were there. Truly a winter wonderland. We had multiple families of all different ages stay with us in the cabin. And everyone LOVED it! Tons of room in each room, and main living room, and game room upstairs, and basement. Owners have even supplied multiple sleds for use on nearby hills. Steam shower is like a sauna and a MUST after skiing and sledding all day!! Only a couple minute drive to the slopes at Beech Mountain. And about 20 mins to slopes at Sugar Mountain. Adorable Mercantile store a couple mins away where we were able to get our groceries for the week. Owner/renter communication has been wonderful! Super kind and helpful before, during, and after reservations/rental. We are already talking about making this a yearly vacation!! Can’t recommend this cabin enough!

This is such a thoughtful review! Thank you so much for staying at our cabin! 🥰
Three families with children, ages 2 years to 13, spent one amazing week in this wonderful home. Set way, way up on a hill, surrounded by trees, beautiful views, and peaceful nature, it was a secluded getaway. The driveway is gravel, and can be tricky to ascend even without snow. But that is the only negative thing I can say about our trip.
The owners had great communication from the very beginning, and their website for the property had intricate details for everything we needed to know about the house. There was also great information about attractions nearby that really helped informed how we spent our time on Beech Mountain.
The house itself has four bedrooms, but really and comfortably fit all 14 of us. The are extra places to sleep everywhere, and not once did we feel like we were in to of one another. The interior of the house is gorgeous and spacious, with a great wilderness theme that fits with the setting. There were plenty of dishes, silverware, and other necessities that, had we forgotten to bring something, we would be covered. The kids loved playing with the pool and ping pong tables, and the adults enjoyed chatting in the living room with the gas fireplace.
The location is amazing. The back porch gives incredible views down the mountain and across the valleys, and with the foliage in the trees you have complete privacy. There was beautiful fog in the mornings and clear stars at night. We even got to light a small fire in the fire pit next to the garage on the lower level of the house. Deer are your constant companions, strolling through the yard and across the roads at all hours of the day. We didn't see any bears, but did see paw prints on one of the trails!
I could go on and on about hiking Grandfather Mountain, getting caught in the tourist trap at Mystery Hill, experiencing the Wizard of Oz live theater, but this is supposed to be about the house. Of course, the location of the house allowed us access to all these amazing experiences, and the complete nature of the rental allowed us relaxation and a comfortable home base for all our mountain adventures.
This was an amazing trip, and we'll definitely be taking about it for years to come. Hopefully we'll get a chance to return and make even more memories. Thank you to the owners who allowed us to share their place, and have such an awesome vacation.

The house was great. Large enough to accommodate a large family or group. Easy to get to. The location is just around the corner from Beech Mountain ski resort. We had a great time
Great house and hosts! Views were wonderful. Lots of amenities. Pool table room was a big hit. Good amount of cups, plates, cooking utensils and pans. Clean, comfortable and can definitely recommend.

About the host
Hosted by Alexandra Marano
We’re Alex and Alexandra (yes—similar names, different people!), based in Chapel Hill, NC. We love to travel and have designed our homes with the same care and attention to detail we look for when we stay somewhere ourselves.
We host a beach townhouse in North Topsail Beach and a mountain cabin in Beech Mountain, each thoughtfully set up to be comfortable, well-equipped, and easy to enjoy from the moment you arrive.
We aim to provide a smooth, relaxing experience with clear communication and minimal interruption during your stay. You’ll have space to settle in and make yourself at home, and we’re always available if you need anything.
Why they chose this property
We chose this location for its unique combination of elevation, privacy, and access to everything that makes the High Country special. At nearly 5,000 feet, the cabin sits high above much of North Carolina, which means noticeably cooler temperatures in the summer—often 10–20 degrees lower—and more consistent snowfall in the winter.
Despite the peaceful, tucked-away feel, you’re just about a mile from Beech Mountain Resort, making it incredibly easy to enjoy skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing in the winter, as well as mountain biking and scenic lift rides in the warmer months. Other nearby resorts, including Sugar Mountain and Appalachian Ski Mountain, offer even more options for winter sports.
Beyond skiing, the area is full of year-round adventure. You’ll find hiking trails on Beech Mountain and throughout the surrounding Blue Ridge, including Grandfather Mountain, as well as activities like ziplining, river tubing and rafting, caving, and UTV rentals. Family-friendly attractions like Tweetsie Railroad, Linville Caverns, and the Alpine Wilderness Coaster are all within easy driving distance.
What we love most, though, is the balance. You can spend the day exploring and then return to a quiet, mountain setting where you might spot deer or even a bear passing through. In the winter, the driveway becomes a perfect spot for sledding, and in every season, you can create your own peaceful walking or hiking loops right from the front door.
It’s a place where you can have both adventure and stillness—and that’s what makes it so special.
What makes this property unique
What makes this cabin stand out is how intentionally it’s designed for groups to gather comfortably while still having space to spread out. Multiple bedrooms and bathrooms are connected by a large, central living area, creating a layout that works beautifully for multi-generational families or several families traveling together.
Nearly every room in the home takes in long-range mountain views, so you’re constantly connected to the landscape. The expansive decks extend the living space outdoors, with plenty of seating, a gas fire table, and a grill—perfect for slow mornings, sunset dinners, and evenings under the stars.
Inside, the home offers multiple, well-designed spaces to relax and connect. The main living area is ideal for gathering around one of two gas fireplaces, while the downstairs playroom—with a large TV, Nintendo emulator, electric fireplace, and toys—gives kids their own space to unwind. Upstairs, the pool table room with a bar opens onto a stargazer deck, creating a standout space for game nights, drinks, and late-night conversation.
We’ve also created a spa-like experience that’s rare for mountain homes, with a copper soaking tub, jetted tub, steam shower, and 3-person sauna—perfect for unwinding after a day on the slopes or trails.
Comfort and practicality are just as thoughtfully considered. You’ll find large TVs throughout, comfortable beds, and family-friendly touches like a dedicated crib room, stroller, and toddler dining seat—making it easy to travel with little ones.
For longer stays, guests can also add access to Beech Mountain Club amenities—including a gym, heated outdoor pool, pickleball and tennis courts, and clubhouse—for an additional fee (available for stays of one week or more).
What truly sets this cabin apart is the balance: it offers space to gather, room to retreat, and a level of comfort and experience that makes time together feel easy, memorable, and just a little bit elevated. Plus, you're never far from things to do!
