Relaxing Stay

View of the mountain was gorgeous and condo was very cozy. Really enjoyed our stay. Nice being on the top floor of the condo as well.

Perfect location to ski Wintergreen

The location for skiing with the family was perfect. We have young children so used the shuttle which was convenient and easy. We visited several local breweries that were close and provided beautiful scenery. The house had everything I needed in the kitchen to make several meals.

Great Condo

Makes great use of the space, is one of the closer properties to the lift (black diamond slopes.) owner is very friendly and responsive when questions came up. Would rent this location again!

Fantastic Wintergreen Getaway

Our visit to Wintergreen was extraordinary. The apartment couldn't have been more comfortable with ample space for the four of us including the magnificent view from the back deck. Our host thought of every possible amenity and detail to make us feel right at home. We can't wait to come back for another visit.

Ski Trip to Wintergreen

My family and I very much enjoyed our stay in Wintergreen. Our condo in the Highlands was perfect for the five of us. It was large enough to accommodate us, but small enough to ensure we had lots of togetherness. The owner was exceedingly accommodating and responsive. I highly recommend this unit for your stay.

Lovely place to stay!

Ness has done a lovely job decorating and creating a comfortable place to relax and enjoy a mountain stay! The view is breathtaking as well. The bedding is so soft and everything was very clean! She adds many little extras is case you forget something... Thanks!!!! Make sure to read and save the manual that is sent to you and the entry code! You should visit!!!!

PERFECT!

This was our 6th year going to Wintergreen during our Winter Break, and this may have been our favorite condo! Perfect for a family of 4 (kids aged 12 &14). The view is spectacular, and the condo is updated and clean, with so many thoughtful touches and gestures! Because so many things are closed and it was really cold, we spent the majority of the time just hanging out in the condo and everyone was perfectly happy. We will be booking this condo again for next year!!!

Cloud City

We had a great stay at this property. The owner was very responsive. The view of the sunrise was amazing, but the days that were foggy were pretty cool as well, especially if it was a low fog that you could overlook. Bedrooms were good and the couple office nooks were good for quarantine era telework. Only improvement I could suggest would be some better cookware sets/cooking utensils//matching lids, but that's because we tend to cook quite a bit while on vacation.

Modern and well located

Family family of four enjoyed a four night stay recently. The condo is well decorated and modern and clean. There were some nice little touches of toiletries and other things you may need during your stay. Everything was very clean. The Highlands have always been a favorite location of our family because of the beautiful mountain views and the proximity to the slopes. Our two teen boys could easily come and go as they pleased throughout the day. My husband was able to work remotely and we all had a lovely break. We will be sure to book again.

Anniversary get away

The view is amazing, absolutely breathtaking to see a sunrise over those gorgeous mountains. Easily my favorite part of our stay. Condo is cute and has been mostly updated. Live plants are a nice touch. My only suggestions would be to add some updates to the bathrooms. Maybe some updated fixtures for an easy upgrade. Queen Bed was comfy and linens were good. TV worked fine. Kitchen is well equipped but very small fridge. Bigger than a mini fridge but maybe something you'd find in a small apartment. If you are preparing a lot of meals wirh fresh food it may be challenging to fit all of your week's ingredients. Only other thing was coffee pot seemed to be missing. There was a French Press though so used that instead. Cannot really comment on the bunks in the loft. Definitely seems cool for kids or teens! Appreciate the washer and dryer! The unit is easily walkable to Fire and Frost, the new wood fired pizza place. Plus easy to hit many trails nearby. Overall nice place!

Great views, nice location, poor communication

We’ve stayed in the Highlands complex and others in Wintergreen before and always had a lovely experience. This was not one of our better experiences. Pros and cons below. PROS - Lovely location - Cute condo CONS - We never received check in/out instructions. Very late in the day on our arrival day, I realized I had no check in instructions, no code for entering. I messaged the host who did provide the code. She texted a page a half of what appeared to be the guest book, but never emailed/texted the entire guest book. No info was in the app. Very strange. - The bed in the primary bedroom is VERY soft and incredibly uncomfortable. I’m not typically picky about beds, but this was one of the worst I have experienced at a VRBO. - We couldn’t figure out how to get into Netflix, as the Firestick wasn’t working. Again, there was no guestbook and no instructions, so I had to message the host. She provided instructions, but it was still annoying this information wasn’t easily available. - There were instructions for turning on the hot water. WHAT?!?!? That is not the way to save a few bucks. - The bathroom had a medicine cabinet full of pediatric and adults meds; some look like they’ve been there for years. First of all, gross! Second, there are crazy people in this world. Do you really store your children’s medicine in there? - The kitchen is fine, but it’s the only VRBO I’ve stayed that didn’t have any cooking oil. Normally I bring my own, just to safe.

FAR from serene

To accurately review this experience it will take pages upon pages. From the initial check in to check out it was just one disappointment after another. First of all, I understand that the property is located on the top of a mountain. However, just how high of a mountain was way beyond my expectations. I have been visiting Virginia for more than half of my life. I know that many places in the Blue Ridge Mountains are “above the clouds”. This one, was exceedingly high. It wasn’t so bad during the day, however as I communicated to the host, we were arriving at night. It really should’ve been at least mentioned that the roads were incredibly treacherous as well as dangerous in the pitch black. So much so, my husband and six-year-old daughter who were in a separate car got lost. I had to contact the actual hotel and consider launching a search team to find him. The following day, we attempted to use one of two pools. We are only able to use one of the pools, not both. That was not mentioned in the description of the facilities. The one pool we were allowed to use, was not open to “renters “until after a certain time. When I communicated this to the host, she said they were not responsible for the times of the pool. True, however when I discussed it with the actual resort, they said the owners were well aware with the conditions and our host basically tried to blame it on Covid restrictions which wasn’t true. When I tried to explain this to the coast, she blatantly said she was not going to even get into a discussion about it. She really needs to update just how many facilities are available to use andIt continued to get worse from there. We had a moldy and mildewy washing machine, and maybe five towels for the five of us for 5 days. I communicated this to the host and she basically said the washer is clean once a month and that is good enough and that I didn’t have to use the washer if I didn’t want to. We were unable to use the washing machine and we had to use the towels we brought to swim with. Since we never were able to use the pools at the allotted time slot, this worked in our favor. We found dirty cutlery in the drawers and a lot of mildew on one of the shower curtains as well as a lot of dust in the vents. The bathrooms look like they have not been touched since the 80s. Even though the rest of the condo was obviously nicely decorated and renovated. The hallways leading up to the condo were Danke, dated, and frought with cobwebs and dirt.

This was a perfect spot for a weekend getaway! The property is very clean, comfortable and we enjoyed our stay! We love checking out the breweries and wineries nearby. We’ll be back for sure!

Beautiful Views

Overall this property was great for a family getaway! The views from the deck are absolutely spectacular and the place itself is very clean and quaint. Unfortunately, the posting is misleading at it advertises that it sleeps 7 people with 2 queen beds. There is one room with a queen bed and a loft with 3 bunk beds but the 2nd queen bed is an air mattress that would have to be setup on the floor of the bunk room. In addition, there were only 5 towels with no extras in any of the closets. Thankfully some family members were unable to make it last minute or we would have been very surprised by the sleeping arrangements. Lastly, the check in process was not ideal. We were told the checkin code would not be sent to us until 30 minutes before checkin. Once we arrived at the condo we had absolutely no service and had to drive an additional hour round trip to get service to receive the code. After getting service however, we realized we still had not been sent the code so after messaging the host a second time we finally received the checkin code 10 minutes after 4 (which was time of checkin). Very frustrating after being on the road all day. Despite these hiccups, we enjoyed our stay once we were settled and the view from the deck to bookend the day made it all worth it!

Overall, we had a good stay! There were some things that could use improvement.

Good location. Stunning views. Good amenities. Fun activities on the property, but we’re limited. Awesome hiking trails. Food choices were limited and alternatives were a good driving distance away.

This is an absolutely beautiful property with unbelievable views and was a great place to go and just relax for the weekend and enjoy the views and good things to do around us! The owner was responsive, the unit was beautifully decorated, comfortable and clean, and I do not know why anyone would rent anywhere else when you have the opportunity to have this view! Thanks for a wonderful s stay, we hope to be back soon!!

Super Cozy and Beautifully Decorated

This property was perfect for our family. It was cozy and really nicely decorated. The condo had all we needed and it was clear the owners took great care to make guests feel at home. The views were awesome. Excellent communication and easy-to-follow check-in and check-out.

We loved this place. There were so many nice little touches that you don't see in every rental. The view was amazing. We felt right at home and hope this place is available next time we go. There is no need to look for a better condo- I don't think you'll find one.

Excellent stay

We had a nice long weekend at Serenity. The weather didn’t work out for skiing but we enjoyed the nearby hikes, breweries and wineries. The condo had everything we needed as a family of four. Separate bathroom for two teenagers in the upstairs loft and our own bedroom and bath downstairs. It was great to wake up with that view every morning and anytime we were back at the condo relaxing.
