About this property

The Northwoods House - Direct ATV Access

The Northwoods House is a cozy, yet spacious home centrally located between Colebrook and Pittsburg (8 miles to town center) in the heart of the Great Northwoods.

Easy to get to in all seasons with privacy and room for trailers, this home is perfect for the outdoor enthusiast looking to take advantage of ATVing (direct access!), snowmobiling (super close), or boating as well as being a quiet relaxing retreat.

Purchased and refreshed in late 2020, this home features all new furnishings and beds, including king and queen memory foam mattresses. Two living/lounging spaces both featuring gas fireplaces, as well as large flat screen TVs with multiple streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, Fubo, Disney+) provide plenty of space for everyone.

Kitchen is fully equipped with silverware, dishes, pots, pans, etc with a large enough table for everyone to sit together for dinner or a game.

Garage is able to be used to park your toys and driveway is large enough to park your trailers. Home is located on an ATV trail and an almost literal stone's throw to the snowmobile trails. (Feel free to message me about this!)

Relaxing is made easy on the porch -- whether you're sipping your morning coffee with a book or a glass of wine at night while listening to Bishop Brook's white noise.

This area is prime and well known for:
- Hunting (upland, small game, big game)
- Fishing (fly fishing, ice fishing, lake fishing)
- Boating (canoeing, kayaking, motor boats, jet skis on First Connecticut)
- Wildlife Viewing and bird watching (moose, deer, bear, snowshoe hares, porcupines, loons, otters, grouse, heron, and so much more!)
- Breathtaking Foliage in the fall
- Snowmobiling
- ATVing
- Hiking (Cohos Trail, Mount Magalloway, Deer Mountain, Monodanock, Table Rock at Dixville Notch)
- Snowshoeing, Cross Country Skiing

Well behaved dogs are more than welcome (but should be crated when left alone).

We hope you enjoy your stay and the area as much as we do!

My husband Bret and I have been coming up to the Pittsburg area for over 10 years now. While we were still dating, he let me know he booked a trip up north to go grouse hunting. I didn't think that sounded like any fun. But I liked him, and figured it would be great to step out of my comfort zone.

Needless to say, we fell in love with the area and the rest is history.

We are now ecstatic to have our own little slice of paradise that we can share with our two bird dogs and our friends and family... and now we can share it with you too!

Why they chose this property

This home has the perfect amount of space so you can be there with family and friends but not be on top of each other. You're super close to Colebrook for shopping and Pittsburg (8 miles to town center!) while being directly on an ATV trail.
