Attention: Active Wildlife in the Area Our area of WNC is currently experiencing increased wildlife activity, particularly from bears. While it’s a privilege to share our environment with these magnificent creatures, it’s essential that we all take precautions to ensure our safety and theirs. Please follow these guidelines: Secure all food and garbage: Bears are attracted to strong smells. Do not leave food in your car and reattach bungee cords to trash can lids every time. Be aware of your surroundings: Stay alert, especially during dawn and dusk when wildlife is most active. Avoid close encounters: If you see a bear or other wildlife, maintain a safe distance and do not approach. Travel in groups: When possible, hike or explore with others, and make noise to alert animals of your presence. Keep dogs leashed at all times. Your cooperation is crucial in maintaining a safe and harmonious environment for everyone. Thank you for your attention and care.

Our family rented 3 cabins in Watershed. Nice to have our own space and still be able to walk between the cabins. We stayed here years ago. I really like all the changes you have made. The commons areas were well used by our family.

Hi Peggy, thanks for the great review! We are working hard to update the resort yearly.
Great place in a nice location. We have been vacationing in this area for the past 5 years annually and found Watershed Resort to be a place we will return to. Our stay this time was a first time for Waterhed Resort and we were pleased with the Resort overall. We did find a couple of things upon entering the cabin on the first day, there was towels still in the wash that was completed but needed to be put in the dryer and a few very minor wear and tear issues that we reported so that they could be fixed after we completed our trip.Overall I would recommend Watershed Resort to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Bryson City.

Traffic noise was constant and loud. Toiletries filthy. Big drainage problems. Downstairs never warm
I wouldn't rent it again. Pictures give you a false impression of the size.

Needs Some Work
The front door is almost impossible to open or close much less turn the deadbolt. I guess the wood has become too swollen to fit the frame. The main floor deck railing is loose and wobbly. Also in the pictures it shows a fence on the side yard which would be great for those with a pet like us. The fence no longer exists. The fence is one of the reasons we selected this cabin.

Hi Beth, thanks for the feedback. We have since updated the photos and issues mentioned. We'd love to host you and your furry friend again!
We were already staying in the area and wanted to extend our dates by a few days. There were only a few options available.
A few observations:
1.) if you have rented mountain cabins, you know the roads can be unpredictable. This setup was nice with lights along the way and a one way road. It’s still on a mountain - but the anxiety of driving on a one way road is far lessened with this setup.
2.) The property managers were very nice and always answered the phone.
3.). There seemed to be an issue with the VRBO app and we did not receive any check in information in advance. Thank goodness I had the property manager number from earlier in the day when we checked on early checkin. It was after 10pm when we called and had no info - the lady that answered was very helpful. It was VERY frustrating on the part of VRBO (the app appeared down the entire day - we were lucky that we had some information to go by - I am sure others were not as lucky).
4.) The property was very clean - it did need a few repairs, but nothing that impeded our stay.
5.). It’s a little noisy. You can hear the cars from the road below so not the most peaceful when outside.
6.) We very much appreciated that they left things like extra toilet paper and laundry soap. 7.) We rent in this area quite a bit - the per night stay - after all the fees - was high based on others we have rented. I also think the checkin time was late - and they charged a fee to checkin early (also do not love that).

We really enjoyed our stay at Watershed 9 and did not want to leave. The view from the deck was beautiful. The house was wonderful and we will definitely be going back.
