Completely renovated log cabin located on the beautiful Sturgeon River. Cabin originally built in the 1940's and remodeled in 2021. It has the charm of the old cabin but with updated inside, plumbing, electric, furnishings and amenities. Reed's on the River is located on 350 ft. of the Sturgeon River with 6 other cabins on the property to rent. All cabins have unobstructed views of the river where you can fish or end your tubing/kayaking adventure at your front door. The cabins are within walking distance of downtown Indian River, which has cute shops, bars and ice cream shops! This is a cozy cabin ideal for 2 to 4 people at most. It features a kitchenette with refrigerator, sink, microwave and induction cooktop. The cabin is a perfect spot to visit May through October as the weather is wonderful. The Sturgeon River is very well known for it's fishing, especially in the Spring and the Fall. It is also the fastest flowing river in the lower peninsula of Michigan making it ideal for tubing and adventurous kayaking. The leaves changing in October is a -must see. We have worked hard to provide comfort, fun, beautiful grounds and service so that you can make life long memories. We will be available for anything you might need. We do sell firewood and fire starting supplies in our office. We are very dog friendly but over the years we have been renting, unfortunately, we've had a few misbehaving pets that have resulted in us having to adopt a pet policy and a pet fee. We charge $25/night, per dog, with a maximum fee of $250 with a max of 2.. Upon booking, please call us and we will send policy form and collect payment. Most cabin resorts in Indian River, including ours, are located off a highway, which can come with traffic noise. Most guests find the peaceful river outweighs the traffic noise.

Beautiful views of the river, the cabin comes stocked with everything you need for your stay. Cabin was very clean and newly renovated. Would definitely stay again.
We recently stayed here with our two young boys and fell in love with this place! The owners are super friendly and the cabin was perfect. You can tell much thought was put into the details of the cabin such as - Sam's club paper towels, fluffy bathroom towels, super comfortable beds, etc. The location is perfect on the beautiful sturgeon river, which provides easy access to activities such fishing, tubing, kayaking. We'll definitely be returning!
It was great. The location gave us a choice of where to eat. One was even within walking distance. It was very quiet at night which gave us privacy. The location was in the middle of where we wanted to go visit. We went to mackinaw one day and the upper peninsula another day. I was sort of sad we had to leave. We will definitely be back.
This was a small but very clean unit. The beds are very comfortable. From what I understand, there are several units which are bigger. The location is good with some nice places to eat nearby. We used this as a stopover and found it very convenient. Mr. Reed has great communication and was very helpful prior to and during out time there.
BTW, he has a very cute puppy that he calls Tink or Tinker.
Sitting outside by the river is lovely. The cabins are small and the kitchens are smaller, a single hotplate, a tiny sink, a microwave and a small refrigerator. I enjoyed the challenge of cooking meals in a ting space but others may not. I loved sitting a watching the river. The highway noise was disconcerting, particularly when trying to sleep.
This property was more than I had imigined and the communication with the owner was above my expectations.
I am looking forward to returning with my dad next fall, as I now know the layout of the cabin and property and know that it would be able to accomodate my dad with no problem.
I am still in awe of this past weekend. The weather, the colors, the service was all so amazing.
This was the absolute perfect spot for our family of 4 to stay for a long weekend. The cabin had everything we needed and the river was quiet and peaceful.

What a fabulous stay! Easy access to Petoskey and my nephew's home near Harbor Springs. The hosts Joleen and Don are the nicest hosts! Loved seeing Qweenie their dog making her rounds. I'm looking forward to our next stay soon! It's well worth the long drive from Rochester, NY.

My family of 4 spent a beautiful long fall weekend at this cabin. The cabins have been thoughtfully and beautifully restored, and they make a perfect cozy spot for a little family getaway. Every detail had been thought of, and we had no complaints! Very lovely set of cabins along the river. 🙂
We have stayed on this property since 1980..this family has taken a rundown, neglected set of cabins and made a miracle ! You won't be disappointed.. Fishing is awesome!
