POIPU CRATER 12 AT KOLOA KAI VACATION RENTALS

Puhi Nani Pools will begin replastering and retiling our pool on April 15, 2024. The work will take approximately 4 weeks and the pool will be closed throughout that time.

Poipu Crater is a truly unique setting - lush and tropical vegetation nestled in an ancient cinder cone crater, just a few hundred feet from the southernmost tip of the island of Kauai. This 2 bed 2 bathroom condo boasts vaulted ceilings and exposed beams. Seclusion with expansive garden views, sharing only a single wall with another unit in a 2-condo building. No upstairs or downstairs neighbors - this is as close to a free-standing condo as you can get.

AC was recently added to aid cooling when the tradewinds die down - this property will keep you cool and comfortable year-round! Most of the rooms have dramatic vaulted ceilings lending to a Polynesian atmosphere.

Enjoy the lanai for meals, lounging, and a peaceful place to relax while the tropical trees slowly sway in the breeze.

As a guest, you will be granted a complimentary membership to the prestigious Poipu Beach Athletic Club (PBAC), providing you with exclusive access to a wide range of amenities. Dive into the crystal-clear waters of the beautiful pool, complete with a beach and slide, perfect for both relaxation and fun. Engage in friendly competition on the tennis and pickleball courts, or shoot some hoops on the basketball court. Stay active and fit with state-of-the-art weight machines, free weights, and cardio equipment. The PBAC also offers a variety of classes to cater to your fitness needs. After a day of activities, treat yourself to a delectable meal at the on-site restaurant, which offers poolside service for your convenience.

Poipu Crater is a short walk to either Poipu Beach and Brennecke Beach in one direction and Shipwreck Beach in the other direction. World-class dining and shopping is a 2-3 minute drive either towards the shops at Kukui'ula or the Grand Hyatt.

Nice Area, Not So Nice Place

There were definitely positives and negative to this experience. The positives: Communication with property management was amazing, very responsive. When we had an issue (broken shower) they sent out maintenance within an hour to repair. Location was great! We loved being close to Shipwreck Beach and we loved being near shopping and Starbucks. The negatives: this unit was not cleaned adequately - significant dust on fans and fixtures, cobwebs in corners, dirty countertops, coffee maker had mildew in it. The unit had bugs - I know it’s a tropical environment, but coming across quite a lot of cockroaches, 20-30 ants crawling up walls, and several millipedes in the house was not acceptable. The photos on the listing are old, as the condition of the property is somewhat deteriorated (though still decent) and the washer and dryer are not the same units pictured. There were missing knobs on bathroom vanities. Walls are all scuffed and need painted. The wood flooring is soft in spots and has chunks missing out of it. Overall, this was a mixed experience. We loved our time in Kauai, but I would not stay at this unit again. I expect a standard, especially for the premium price, and this failed to meet that standard.

Beautiful property

Beautiful condo with everything you need to enjoy your stay. Great location, and close to Poipu beach and other lovely homes. Would definitely recommend. Just minor issues with passcode to the door, but would stay again.
