About this property

Studio overlooking the Northland of Canyon Ferry Lake

Bear's Den is an exceptional clean, quiet, private one bedroom unit with a full bath in my home overlooking Canyon Ferry Lake. The entrance is separate from the rest of the home. Parking is right outside your door. Bear's Den is very well equipped with a full size Keurig coffee pot, microwave and mini-frig. There are real mugs, enough coffee & tea for your entire stay, flatware, paper plates, & much more. Less expensive & much nice that a nice room in town. The views are amazing.

My first experience with VRBO was in 2007. I rented our home in Bozeman for several years. I started back with VRBO at Canyon Ferry in 2020. The best part of the experience was all the wonderful guest that have stayed with me. I have met people from Turner, Mt. (population 61) to Mule Shoe, Texas to Pakistan. You have all enriched my life. Thank you!!! See you here or on Air B&B.

So come explore all Montana has to offer. You are close to lakes, rivers and mountains, or explore historic Helena. There is a variety of wildlife right outside the door.

More than expected.
Kathy's room with a view is great! The space is extremely well done, very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed waking up to overlooking the lake while sitting on the porch. Kathy is a great host, and exceeded our expectations of our stay as she took us for a boat ride to revisit some memories my husband had as a child. Kathy's house is about 20 minutes to Helena so you have the conveniences of the city with being removed which we prefer. You must take the short drive to York to have a great hamburger in an eclectic bar. We would and will definitely stay here again

Very Nice!
This is a clean, airy, mother-in-law's suite with one large room, a bathroom, and a nice walk in closet. The only thing that I noted as lacking is the fact that there was no Wi-Fi and given its location in the valley, cell signal is not strong enough for hot-spot usage. If you are just looking for a place to sleep at night, this is a great spot, if you are hoping to get work done online, this might not be the best spot for you. I would absolutely stay again.

I am a retired Bozeman business women who loves living on the lake. Growing up I spent my summers surround by generations of family on Lake Okoboji, Iowa. Fast forward (time goes by so fast) I am back to my water roots with the added benefit of mountains. To me it is the perfect combination. I am a people person. I enjoy sitting on my deck & visiting if you would like to join me. If not you have all the privacy you require. I know you will enjoy my little slice of paradise. There are two VRBO rentals in my home. "Room with a view" (VRBO #2179416) is a one bedroom unit on the upper level with a private entrance. Captain's Quarters (VRBO 2182154) is a two bedroom apartment on the lower level.

Why they chose this property

The neighborhood kind of choose me. I have been coming to Canyon Ferry since 1992. In 1998 I moved my father & his 30' sailboat "up river" from Yankton, SD. After 7 summer of living aboard & traveling in the winters, he found a 1963 untitled mobile home at the north end of the lake to rent. In May of 2016 the owners of the property decided to sell. They gave me first option. I jumped on the opportunity. In October of 2018 I scrapped the property & started building. January 16, 2019, my contractor, his helper & I were on the subfloor of the second story. The lake had frozen 2 days before. We watched a group of ice skaters. (Check out " CANYON FERRY ICE SKATERS" on YouTube. The ice was about 2". Way too thin. I know most of the skaters. They were well equipped. One did fall in after the video was taken.) In November I moved in. My room was done. My microwave was on the dresser. I had a camp potty in the bathroom. In January of 2020 I moved Mom in. I have been delighted with the house & grateful to live in such a beautiful place.
